Summary

The Senior Director, Total Rewards & HR Operations will direct the company’s total rewards strategy and programs to enable them to attract, reward, and retain top talent. This includes designing, developing, and implementing and sustaining contemporary, competitive compensation and benefits programs.

Position is also responsible for all HR Operations including payroll, HRIS, data analytics, compliance, ethics, employment policies and facility management.

Role Responsibilities


Compensation

  • Ensures compensation strategy aligns with company business objectives, are competitive, cost effective, efficient, and legally compliant in local markets.
  • Leads ongoing planning, design, and execution for all Company compensation programs including policy and procedure design and administration.
  • Develops and communicates compensation strategy and resulting implications to Ecova’s leadership and employees to enable attraction and retention of our talent.


Health & Welfare Benefits Programs

  • Oversees and leads health and welfare benefits strategy and design, including administration, implementation, and communication of total rewards, retirement plans, compliance, governance, benefits accounting, and vendor management.
  • Develops a health and welfare benefit strategy that aligns with our people and rewards philosophy and supports corporate business objectives. Ensures offerings are cost effective, efficient, and competitive. Evaluates current plans against market practice, statutory requirements, and plan financing/benefit risks.
  • Leads design, implementation, and communication of global wellness programs company-wide to provide cost-effective healthcare and promote a healthy workforce.
  • Continuously strives to build employee engagement and motivation to the programs implemented.
  • Directs the Leave Administration, including FMLA and other federal and state leaves for multi countries including US and Canada.
  • Oversees on time and accurate preparation of 5500s, Summary Plan Descriptions, Summary Annual Reports, and audit documents.
  • Acts as Chairman of the 401k Investment Committee and facilitate decisions around appropriate investments.
  • Responsible to work with enterprise safety teams to decrease safety violations and increase employee health and safety awareness.


HR Operations


Payroll:

  • Ensures accurate, seamless, efficient and timely execution of payroll processes in accordance with all federal, state and local laws, regulations and requirements.
  • Provides leadership and guidance for US and Canadian payroll, ensuring flawless execution.
  • Responsible for overall data integrity and accurate reporting.
  • Maintains strong internal controls environment; develops and implements new controls as necessary.


HR Information Management Systems (HRIS):

  • Responsible for the development, administration, implementation and maintenance of the HRIS strategy (Workday) and accompanying HR systems, including the design and/or testing of new HR applications or system related processes.
  • Partners with the HR and leadership to improve existing People Metrics Reporting to enable better decision making and increase efficiency and accuracy of talent management decision making.


HR Compliance, Ethics & Employment Policies:

  • Responsible to ensure company practices are in compliance and consistent with Engie ethics policies and practices.
  • Ensures HR Operations is in compliance with regulatory practices and policies.
  • Reviews and manages changes to company policies, procedures and practices on personnel matters as appropriate.
  • Acts as a resource to leadership on all personnel matters and ensures compliance to all policies across the organization.

Facility Management:

  • Responsible to decrease operational spend and increase operational efficiency through the implementation of facility management best practices.
  • Provides leadership and strategy for all facility management operations.
  • Responsible for lease and contract negotiation with real estate professionals and vendors to ensure responsible administration of the company facilities.
  • Accountable for the most efficient use of pace capital budget for space planning initiatives.
  • Oversees, directly or indirectly, all facility personnel and/or Site leads at all Ecova locations.

Role Competencies

  • BA or BS in business, finance, or related field required.
  • Advanced degree and/or SPHR certification is preferred.
  • 10 years of Human Resource experience successfully leading, implementing and maintaining enterprise-wide HR programs and/or initiatives.
  • 5 years leading multi-state, complex compensation and benefits and/or HR Operations departments in a leadership or senior contributor role.
  • Experience leading, motivating and influencing teams to accomplish goals and exceed expectations while fostering a strong collaborative work environment focused on excellence is essential.
  • Ability to lead, coach and support teams in a highly-collaborative, high-context culture.
  • Transparent, emotionally-intelligent leadership and strong management skills with the ability to manage multiple, conflicting priorities in a matrix environment.
  • Change management experience leading teams through process improvement, workflow optimization and positive cultural change is required.
  • Ability to “think outside of the box” and provide creative solutions that unify best practices, compliance requirements and business needs in a scalable, sustainable approach.
  • Will quickly and effectively establish credibility at all levels within the organization and maintain those relationships through high-impact, constant change is critical to success.
  • Proven ability to provide professional development for teams while enabling teams to compete in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with versatility and professional acumen.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, priorities and issues successfully and simultaneously. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Is comfortable challenging the status quo and willing to "roll up their sleeves and get things done" as well as possess a “can do" attitude.
  • Must demonstrate highly effective interpersonal communication skills and a desire to coach and develop others to ensure value add delivery of HR services.
