Accounting Manager position. Job Description We are looking for a
Senior Accounting Manager who will be responsible for various
financial functions within the accounting and finance team. The
position will report to the Business Unit Manager, work closing
with the senior team (Supply Chain, Engineering, Ops, HR and Sales
Manager) and provide support for the Accounts Payable, Receivables
Staff, General Ledger, etc. Areas of responsibility will include
cost accounting, processes, internal controls, FP&A, with
experience in finance & accounting in manufacturing and fabrication
in these areas a plus. This person will manage two people on the
Accounting Team. Company Description Our Client is a commercial
kitchen ventilation manufacturing company in Tualatin, Oregon for
over 50 years and a business unit of a Fortune 200 global
manufacturing company. Minimum Qualifications Required -- BS in
Accounting -- 2 years in accounting leadership role -- 5 years
accounting experience in a manufacturing/fabrication environment
across multiple financial functions including AR, AP, GL and Cost
Accounting. -- Financial analysis and problem-solving skills --
Strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel Onboarding experience:
The current individual in this role is retiring and will provide
you a smooth onboarding experience/transition into the role.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Qualifications and Skills: --
Solid accounting skills in a manufacturing environment -- Ability
to exercise independent and sound judgment -- Excellent
communication skills. -- High emotional intelligence and cultural
awareness. -- Commercially aware, able to tell a business story
with numbers. Financial Reporting and Control: -- Full accounting
cycle --- except treasury and tax which are managed by the parent
company. -- Learn and apply the parent company business model to
eliminate complexity and improve the profitability of the division.
-- Prepare and review all financial statements and outlooks in
conjunction with leadership team. -- Ensure accurate and timely
reporting of business financial information in compliance with the
parent company policies and GAAP. -- Coordinate monthly close to
ensure timely preparation and issuance of financial statements and
analysis. -- Manage and control the financial activities,
transactions, and resources (people and process) of the facility.
-- Maintain a strong internal control environment. -- Strategic
Planning: -- Contribute to the vision and implementation of
strategic long-range plans, capital investments, and special
projects. -- Complete financial aspects of long-range plans and
annual operating plans and assist in preparation for presentation
to upper management. -- Prepare and report financial forecasts
every month by collaborating with the other business leaders.
Operating Analysis and Planning: -- Be a strategic business partner
to the General Manager and business unit leadership team, acting as
a financial business advisor with an influencer mindset. --
Complete bi-annual physical inventory and cost roll, as well as
co-leader of inventory accuracy and inventory grading activities.
-- Knowledge of and ability to partner with Engineering staff in
BOM development and costing. -- Partner with Sales & Marketing to
develop and execute profitable customer growth strategies. --
Partner with Operations to drive manufacturing and materials
efficiencies. -- Provide measurable and accurate financial targets
to evaluate the financial performance of the business. Growth
Investment Analysis: -- Perform financial review/analysis of
customer programs, contracts and proposals. -- Evaluate projects
that support additional investment or enhance the current
development of assets and resources with the goal of improving the
profitability of the organization. -- People Leadership & Talent
Development: -- Manage small staff and establish working
relationship with other key division & FEG financial players. --
