  • Business expense reimbursements Medical & related benefits provide $10,000 - $15,000 in additional monetary support to employees.OVERVIEWBGCP is seeking an analytical accounting & receivables assistant that will have primary responsibility for accounts receivable to assist our accounting department as it receives, processes, and collects on pledges, contracts, and grants, as well as for goods sold or services rendered. In this role, the person will be required to review account information, correct discrepancies, and ensure that all accounts are correctly billed and that payments are collected.The ideal candidate will have proven non-profit industry experience and experience with grant billings, coding and compliance. SPECIFIC DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:Primary responsibilities as an integral part of the financial operations team will touch on the following areas:
    • Preparing invoices, sending bill reminders, filing paperwork, and contacting clients related to pledges, grants, contracts, and other agreements.
    • Generating reports and statements for internal use such as A/R aging schedules each month
    • Responsible for all receivables and related activities
    • Responsible for all billings and invoices related to pledges, contracts, and grants
    • Timely review of overdue accounts, pledges, contracts, and grant payments
    • Tracking and recording pledge commitments received from the Development department.
    • Preparation of invoices for donors upon receipt of properly prepared pledge form commitments.
    • Recording grant awards and reviewing LOAs, contracts, and agreements.
    • Generate grant expenditure tracking to the Grants Manager and VP of Development to ensure that grant funds are being spent within the performance period and achieving desired financial targets and goals.
    • Serves as the liaison from finance to BGCP's Nutrition program with ODE - serving as the primary financial contact to ODE in administering the financial component of the ODE grant, including submitting SFSP and CACFP claim reimbursement after receiving EOM reports from Kid's Caf-- sites.
    • Assist in creating budgets for grant proposals, if necessary
    • Assist with the preparation and maintenance of the grant allocation process
    • Create and send timely pacing reports for special events to Development Team
    • Review of A/R Aging to assure collections on all possible outstanding receivables.
    • Monitor and maintain the finance @ bgcportland.org email address to Finance, including the distribution, as appropriate, to the finance team for action
    • Special Projects in support of CFO and ControllerPOSITION EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
      • Requires a minimum of 3+ years of experience as an accounting or finance professional, preferably with a non-profit organization with significant expertise in receivables as an integral part of their responsibilities
      • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
      • Proficient in Quick Books
      • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat
      • Grant management & allocation experience
      • Organizational and time-management skills
      • Ability to, both independently and collaboratively, solve problems, manage multiple priorities, and move complex projects forward while paying attention to details and deliverables
      • Exhibit understanding, sensitivity, and responsiveness to cultural differences present in BGCP's service and employee population
      • Strong math, typing, and computer skills, especially with bookkeeping software.
      • Excellent communication, research, problem-solving, and time management skills.
      • High accuracy, efficiency, accountability, and attention to detail. THE SELECTION PROCESS
