Legacy Health is seeking a dedicated Financial Counselor to join our team, where compassion meets healthcare innovation. Our Financial Counselors are pivotal in ensuring that our patients receive the care they need by providing financial guidance and support throughout their treatment at our network of hospitals and clinics. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of healthcare financing options, insurance plans, and regulatory requirements to provide critical financial advice to patients navigating their medical journeys. Engage with patients to explain and discuss their healthcare benefits and financial responsibilities. Analyze patient financial information and determine eligibility for various medical financing and assistance programs. Educate patients and their families on available payment options and assist in the application processes. Collaborate with healthcare providers, billing departments, and insurance companies to facilitate coverage and resolve billing issues. Operate in compliance with all federal, state, and local guidelines, including HIPAA regulations and internal financial policies. Maintain accurate patient records concerning financial counseling and transactions. Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong understanding of healthcare insurance processes, billing, and coding. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to analyze financial data and provide sound advice. Strong ethical standards and the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Certified Application Counselor (CAC) is advantageous but not mandatory. CFPB Financial Coach Certification is a plus.
