In this role, you will participate in a variety of challenging and fulfilling processes to ensure the Board is meeting its statutory timelines and to uphold due process rights. For a full review of the position duties and details, please review the position description.Primary duties and responsibility of the position include:Gather information from a variety of sources and prepare exhibit files prior to hearings.Prepare exhibit files for conditional release evaluations.Obtain and maintain certification in the Law Enforcement Data System (LEDS).Maintain and track data using reports, spreadsheets, and databases.Working Conditions:Employee in this position works a 40-hour work week, with a flexible schedule contingent on agency needs.Primary work is conducted in an office with occasional opportunities to work remotely.Workload is driven by statutory and other firm deadlines.Job duties require an ability to work both as a team and independently.Occasional evening work hours necessary to ensure resolution of any crisis/revocation, with comp time/flexible work schedule.Oregon Psychiatric Security Review BoardThe Psychiatric Security Review Board (PSRB) was created by Oregon Legislature in 1977 to assume jurisdiction of those persons who successfully assert the insanity defense to criminal charge. In the past 40 years, its success has resulted in an expansion of programs serving Oregonians. This includes its jurisdiction over youth who successfully assert the insanity defense; a firearm restoration program for those with a historical mental health adjudication; its jurisdiction over persons who commit severe criminal acts, but who are not competent to stand trial; and the reclassification and relief of registration requirements for those with a sex offender designation who are currently or had previously been under the PSRB due to that designation.The Board's mission is to protect the public by working with partnering agencies to ensure person under its jurisdiction receive the necessary services and support to reduce the risk of future dangerous behavior using recognized principles of risk assessment, victims' interest and person-centered care.
