EDUCATION SUPERVISOR, 3 openings in the Milwaukie, Gladstone, and Oregon City Service Area Biweekly starting salary, 80 hours per pay-period is $2357 to $2450, 48 weeks per year. GENERAL OBJECTIVE: To manage and lead teaching staff for assigned classrooms; support ages 0-5 service delivery at the center level; collaborate to integrate components in all areas; collaborate with managers and directors to assure agency compliance with Licensing Requirements and Federal and State Performance Standards. REPORTS TO: Education Services Manager SUPERVISES: Teachers CLASSIFICATION: Exempt, non-represented PAY GRADE: L. Starting salary: Biweekly: $2357 to $2450. (Divide by 80 hours biweekly for hourly equivalent.) Bilingual add to pay is $.35 per hour. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Education Supervision Supervise Teachers and Teacher/Family Advocates for assigned classrooms. Manage and lead center daily operations and center staff. Recommend areas of improvement to staff and promote training that reflects the individual needs of staff members and/or the team as a whole. Complete all priority tasks accurately and on time, as outlined in the Monthly Task List. Perform monitoring tasks related to education child supervision/safety, family services, health, and ERSEA (child attendance, education services record keeping, classroom monitoring checklists, active supervision/zoning activities, playground checklists, family services record keeping, health follow-up, etc.) Monitor developmental screening completion and related data entry by expected timelines (ASQ-3, ASQ-SE). Monitor Teacher education home visit and parent conference completion and related data entry by expected timelines. Monitor Teacher/Family Advocate family services home visit completion and related data entry by expected timelines. Monitor completion of data entered into TS GOLD and ChildPlus by Teachers by expected timelines. Achieve and maintain CLASS reliability and administer CLASS observations as assigned (as training is available). Maintain TPOT/TPITOS reliability and administer TPOT/TPITOS observations (as training is available). Coach classroom staff in the implementation of the Creative Curriculum and PBIS. Assist center staff with child abuse and neglect reports, including tracking, data entry, and routing of reports. Coordinate professional development and training plans of assigned staff and track progress towards educational Federal Performance Standards requirements. Incorporate reflective supervision practices in daily work with staff. Facilitate the resolution of conflicts between staff. Oversee the occurrence of case management meetings, consultations, and staff meetings. Participate in case management meetings as requested. Complete classroom observations using appropriate tools and assist staff in meeting the individual needs of the children. Ensure lesson plans contain required kindergarten readiness activities and required Federal Performance Standard components. Track and follow up on child attendance referrals made by teachers. Assure that assigned staff maintain required credentials (CBR, CDA, First Aid/CPR, Food Handlers Card, etc.) Parent Interaction Jointly oversee the planning and facilitation of monthly Family Gatherings, parent committee meetings, and special events as requested, in collaboration with Family Advocates. Ensure representation of assigned center(s) on Policy Council. Facilitate the resolution of parent concerns. Center Director Ensure compliance with staffchild ratios; ensure adequate daily classroom coverage with appropriate staff. Ensure the health & safety of all enrolled children in assigned sites and classrooms. Be present at the center on a daily basis during the hours of classroom operation; secure a substitute director for any hours of operation in the event of center director absence. Promote safety among center staff; maintain a safe working environment; and assure timely completion of all incident reporting. Maintain records in compliance with the Oregon Child Care Licensing requirements; maintain documents required by the Agency and Oregon Child Care Division; ensure applicable documents completed daily and stored on site, as needed (personnel file box, classroom staff sign-in sheets, child attendance records, child incident reports, etc.) Represent the Agency to the broader public; conduct tours for parents and other guests. Coordinate the use of assigned center facilities for meetings, trainings, and events; provide assistance for set up. Facilitate and monitor enrollment process of new children with Family Advocates and Family Connections team. Meet and communicate regularly with Component Managers to discuss staff development and component directives. Collaborate with center staff in routing interoffice mail and content disbursement Conduct monthly Center Meetings for center staff. Ensure timely communication with assigned staff regarding Agency policies and procedures. Community Involvement Build and strengthen collaborations and rapport with local agencies and partners, attend appropriate meetings. Participate and assist with community events. Conduct community outreach, soliciting volunteers and support for the center. ADDITIONAL EXPECTATIONS: Program Participation and Team Member: Arrive to work on time; punctually attend and actively participate in all required activities, meetings, and trainings Be a respectful, cooperative, and reliable team member and participant in program activities Project a professional work image, both in dress and manner Be familiar with, and adhere to, position-related policies and procedures as well as the programs overarching objectives Follow Agency policy/procedures for reporting and documenting suspected child abuse and/or neglect Code of Conduct: Perform all work in compliance with the Clackamas County Childrens Commission Code of Conduct. Confidentiality: Respect and maintain confidentiality of information regarding enrolled children and families, personnel issues, and other program operations as appropriate. Training: In consultation with supervisor, develop professional work goals and training plan. Participate in training as requested. JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience Bachelors degree in early childhood education (ECE) or A bachelors degree in a related field with 18 quarter (12 semester) college credits in ECE Three years experience as a Teacher an early childhood environment. At least one year of training and/or experience in management and supervision of adults. Knowledge of theories and practices of early childhood education/development. Step 10 or higher with the Oregon Registry Online (must be attained within 2 months of hire) Must be at least 21 years of age, as required by Oregon Administrative Rules Skills and Abilities Ability to effectively supervise and coach staff from varied cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. Ability to provide training, direction, and support to fit individual needs. Ability to set and communicate specific goals and monitor progress toward achieving them. Strong computer skills, proficient in MS Office Suite and knowledge of, or ability to learn, specialized education software. Ability to possess and maintain a valid drivers license and insured vehicle available for use on the job (or have alternative transportation). Ability to possess and maintain compliance with State of Oregon Criminal Background Registry. Ability to possess and maintain current First Aid/CPR certification. Ability to obtain and maintain an Oregon Food Handlers Card Bilingual preferred Ability to pass a health and drug screen In order to best protect children, families, and staff from COVID-19 we require COVID -19 vaccination and booster for all staff, with exemptions for medical, disability, or religious reasons.
