Job Description:
Description The responsibilities for the field surveyor
encompass many aspects of LiDAR and remote sensing data
acquisition, ground control and check points for LiDAR and remote
sensing data acquisition, with possible assignments doing ground
control and attribution work at airports. This position requires
extensive travel by automobile and possibly aircraft when working
with sensors, with field rotations lasting sixteen consecutive
days, followed by 12 days off-duty throughout the year.
Responsibilities Ensure safe and secure use of company equipment
and instrumentation Set up GPS base stations and collect ground
data points in study areas Set up GPS rover and connect to RTN /
VRS and collect ground data points in study areas Set up Total
Station / Robotic Instrument to collect ground data points in study
areas Troubleshoot instrumentation Perform considerate and
efficient intra-team assignments Complete necessary field logs and
data transfer duties Comply with company travel and reimbursement
policies Adhere to a strict work schedule Knowledge, Skills, and
Abilities Ability to be successful working independently and in a
team setting Self-motivated Excellent decision making and problem
solving abilities Good communication skills Understanding of
geospatial concepts and GPS survey methods Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in related field or high school diploma with
commensurate experience A valid driver's license and clean driving
record Experience with databases and spreadsheets Experience with
GNSS survey practices and instrumentation Preferred Qualifications
Experience with producing typical Land Surveying industry related
drawings in a CAD platform. Familiarity with Trimble Business
Center and Trimble data collectors Understanding of Reference
Systems and Datums Excellent attention to detail Certification as a
Land Surveyor in Training or the desire to pursue licensure as a
career goal Two or more years of relevant field experience CPR and
basic First Aid certifications Resumes will be accepted until all
