JOB SUMMARYAt STANLEY Infrastructure, Test Technicians work on complex problems in a multi-disciplined team environment resulting in the introduction of new and improved tools and accessories. Test Technicians work under general supervision of the engineering team and closely with other teams to meet their product and prototype testing needs. The scope of work is from initial test development to final report writing.

This role is responsible to:--- Support new product development engineers in the development of cordless high power tools.--- Conceptualize and build test fixtures and equipment using a variety of fabrication equipment.--- Write clear and detailed test procedures.--- Setup and conduct a various manual and automated tests to determine the performance of prototypes, new and existing products or components.--- Write test reports that clearly communicate test findings.--- Maintain a clean, organized and safe test lab environment.

Successful employees in this role will be very comfortable and capable at:--- Being Hands-on with fabrication equipment such as soldering and hot air rework stations--- Being knowledgeable of electrical test equipment including oscilloscopes, function generators, power supplies, temperature and humidity chambers, etc.--- Creating detailed written instructions based on general input from engineering.--- Following detailed processes and instructions.--- Making detailed observations and communicating them to others with strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills--- Getting things done in a creative and resourceful manner.--- Being well organized and managing multiple projects simultaneously.The successful candidate who performs well in this role will have growth opportunities available within the business. REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, RESPONSIBILITIES & CAPABILITIESEducation: HS Diploma.Experience: 5 -10 Years; with experience conducting tests of electrical products or electrical components

Responsibilities & Capabilities: Can perform all of the functions of a Level I Test Technician:--- Listening, and Communicating (both verbal and written) within the team.--- Independently commission new circuit designs and debug from schematic--- Provide technical support to Customer Service, Production, and Sales when part/tool issues are identified in the field or as needed.--- Understanding the needs of others and finding solutions quickly. --- Order necessary supplies and equipment to setup and conduct tests.--- Modify, Assemble and Prepare product for test.--- Conceptualize and Build test fixtures and equipment using fabrication skills. (Manual Mill/Lathe, various hand power-tools)--- Operate automated tests driven through (PLC, Arduino or other electronic controls).--- Operate data acquisition software and hardware (Lab VIEW software or equivelent).--- Software scripting (Python or equivelent) experience would be desirable but not essential.--- Setup and conduct verification and validation tests on new and existing products or components.--- Setup, Spot Calibrate and Operate instrumentation (accelerometers, strain gauge, transducers, etc---) for test application.--- Participate in manufacturing trials, lab testing and field trials.--- Participate in structured problem Solving (8D, Shainin, 5-Why) demonstrating strong critical thinking and problems solving. --- Record test conditions and results. Prepare test reports.--- Experience with Confluence, Jira or other tools desirable.--- Use Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint).--- Following established processes throughout the organization.--- Manage laboratory library and related technical information.--- Keep all engineering storage and test locations clean and organized.

In addition to the following functions with minimal supervision or guidance:--- Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop product requirements and specifications.--- Partner with manufacturing and suppliers to support technical activities.--- Ensure that test resource availability is aligned with test lab schedules.--- Ensure that test lab equipment is calibrated and in proper working order.--- Assist engineers to draft test procedures.--- Maintain Controlled Revisions of Test Procedures for use by other engineers and technicians, including suppliers and other Stanley locations.--- Publish test reports with clear pass/fail requirements and results.--- Willing to work overtime as needed to support projects.--- Other duties as assigned by Lab Manager.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS--- Represent the Company at a high professional level both internally and externally.--- Ability to concentrate and performing complex tasks for sustained periods.--- Ability to work at a desk as well as in a manufacturing environment.--- Able to work in a fast paced environment; under pressure and within project deadlines.--- Follow as Safety postings and rules throughout the factory.--- Job may require occasional exposure to dust, fumes, noise, hydraulic oil, gasoline and exposure to dangers of working in industrial settings.--- Ability to perform physical work and lift up to 40 pounds.--- Must be willing and able to travel domestic and internationally.Stanley Black & Decker offers its employees a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits plan that includes medical, dental, life, disability, 401k, ESPP, vacation, paid holidays, and more!
