The Manufacturing Engineer is a technical professional who develops
or improves manufacturing processes to increase efficiency and
boost profits in the secondary operations department. This role is
responsible for support and design concepts for improvement of
manufacturing operations, thereby increasing productivity and
improving manufacturing costs. The individual will work closely
with the Sr. Process Engineer and the Product Development Engineers
to develop effective processes on new programs as well as improving
processes on existing programs. Effort is concentrated on improving
capability of the output of each operation.
Essential Duties :
Support corrective action activities (root cause analysis) as
Support process validation and development activities (in support
of operations) as directed. (30%)
Apply Continuous Improvement tools (5s, Lean) to improve process
capability and eliminate waste (30%)
Collect and analyze data thru measuring, PLEX, and or existing
Experience and Qualifications:
BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Experience in a manufacturing environment.
Equivalent combination of knowledge/education/experience may be
substituted in lieu of degree.
High mechanical aptitude, particularly in metals processing.
Ability to read blueprints.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
A thorough understanding of GDT.
Thorough understanding of SPC as related to manufacturing
Ability to work in a team environment.
Lean manufacturing training
Physical Demands :
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly
required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs
and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear and see.
Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up
to 25 pounds) during the course of the workday.
Work Environment :
Work is primarily in an office setting located in a manufacturing
plant with some work regularly performed on the factory floor. As
such, the job may include exposure to extremes in temperature and
humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic
chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles.
Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a
plant environment, including hearing protection, safety glasses,
safety footwear, gloves, and other protective equipment as

Due to ITAR requirements, employees must be meet the definition of
