employees!SummaryThis position will assist the pharmacist in
filling, dispensing and driving/delivering prescriptions to
patients of NHC Pharmacy. The pharmacy technician is responsible
for helping NHC patients access high cost and/or specialty
medications and medical supplies through interfacing with community
pharmacies and insurance plans. This position will also provide
administrative support to the Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacy
Manager.Essential Job Duties & ResponsibilitiesManage medication
prior authorization requests for all NHC primary care
clinics.Review PA requests and gather needed information from
dispensing pharmacy, insurance plan, prescribing provider and
patient chart.Complete PA paperwork and submit to insurance company
for review.Coordinate communication between prescribing provider,
insurance plan and dispensing pharmacy. Provide updates regarding
CCO formulary and prior authorization criteria to clinic staff and
providers.Process orders for diabetic supplies for NHC patients.
Maintain NHC Pharmacy on site inventory and inventory records.Order
and check in medications from vendors.Review stock to remove
expired medications.Create pharmacy chart for patients establishing
at NHC Pharmacy.Enter and update information in patient's pharmacy
record for pharmacist review.Assist pharmacist on duty to fill
prescription orders.Uses NHC delivery vehicle to deliver
prescriptions to patient's home after release and counseling by
pharmacist on duty. Enter and bill pharmacy insurance plans for
dispensed prescriptions.Coordinate and schedule delivery of
prescriptions to patientsCollect financial records from patients to
apply for income based sliding scale fees and patient assistance
programs.Coordinate and collect payment from patients for dispensed
prescriptions.Performs other duties as
assigned.QualificationsEducation and/or ExperienceThis position
requires a high school diploma or GED 2+ years' experience as a
Pharmacy Technician. Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsActive
Oregon Certified Pharmacy Technician license in good standingActive
Driver's license Active automobile insuranceKnowledge, Skills,
Abilities & BehaviorsAbility to reliably and safely perform a
delivery route for patient medication using the NHC pharmacy
vehicle.Ability to communicate professionally both orally and in
writing with a service-oriented approach, sometimes in stressful
circumstances.Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with
HIPAA policies.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Ability
to answer and utilize multiple line telephone and standard office
equipment.Ability to learn and adapt to changing information and/or
policies and procedures.Must be able to display sensitivity to the
population and patients served.Must be able to demonstrate a record
of reliable attendance and punctuality.Ability to proficiently use
Pioneer Pharmacy Management Software preferred.Ability to
proficiently use EPIC Electronic Health Record preferred.Ability to
fluently speak, read, and write in Spanish highly
