Harris Group is seeking an Associate Control (Electrical or Mechanical) Engineer to join our Portland, OR region. This is an exciting opportunity for an entry level Engineer to learn and grow! Job Summary
Harris Group is looking for an Associate Control (Electrical and Mechanical) Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary group of engineers in our Portland, Oregon location. This position provides opportunities to problem-solve and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria on varied and diverse projects. We are looking for someone with a background in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering who is excited to develop in the Automation and Instrumentation discipline.

  • Production and basic engineering tasks
  • Supporting multi-disciplinary teams on control system testing, equipment commissioning, and field testing
  • Field information gathering and surveying
  • PLC, DCS, HMI and SCADA system planning, design, programming, and upgrade.
  • Developing drawings and specifications for construction.
  • Equipment selection, cost estimating, equipment layout and coordination with other engineering disciplines.
  • Testing for industrial applications related to process manufacturing, aerospace, chemical processing, and municipalities
  • Regular and reliable attendance
  • Ability and willingness to travel to an off-site location and/or accept client site assignments when required
    Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and 0 - 3 years of relevant experience in PLC programming and HMI or SCADA configuration.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Self-starter with a strong work ethic, curiosity, and a problem-solving mindset.
    • Ability to use a computer and computer software programs, such as AutoCAD and Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
