Software Quality Assurance Engineer
Remote home office in West or Northwest
Regular Full-Time

You enjoy working closely with the developers, other QA staff and other business divisions throughout the product development cycle, testing customer facing and internal applications. You would be responsible for supporting the testing effort including writing and maintaining test automation libraries, developing test strategies, writing test plans, creating test cases, executing test cases and reporting progress to the group. You are seeking a role where you can contribute to application testing efforts including writing test plans, creating test cases, executing tests, managing defects, and collaborating with team members. Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Implements and maintains a robust automation framework for regression, integration and functional testing.
  • Works with Engineering teams to gather regression requirements and come with reliable automation scripts
  • Performs unit, regression and integration tests. Prepares, maintains and executes test cases to ensure test coverage to validate high quality software implementations.
  • Manages bugs by gathering critical information needed for problem classification, and retests within appropriate guidelines.
  • Create, execute, and document functional, regression and negative testing methodologies and data integrity tests.
  • Uses existing test process and procedures while recommending potential improvements as lessons learned or future improvements (such as test automation, other)
  • Develop, document and maintain functional test cases and other test artifacts like the test data, data validation, harness scripts and automated scripts.
  • Execute and evaluate manual or automated test cases and report test results.
  • Hold and facilitate test plan/case reviews with cross-functional team members.
  • Identify any potential quality issues per defined process and escalate potential quality issues immediately to management.
  • Ensure that validated deliverables meet functional and design specifications and requirements.
  • Isolate, replicate, and report defects and verify defect fixes.
  • Work with other technical teams to resolve code and infrastructure related problems (i.e. Browser issues, Network, Database) where appropriate
  • Assist with task assignments (in consultation with his/her management).Job Requirements:
    • 5-7 years hands-on experience in a QA role with proven experience with test automation.
    • BS in Computer Science, Information Systems or related degree preferred
    • Hands on experience with test automation and test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, QTP), as well as test application and tools.
    • Proven understanding of a software language (e.g., C#, Java) or scripting languages and 1 year direct programming experience using Selenium web driver & C#
    • Knowledge of web services and hands on experience with web service testing tools such as SoapUI.
    • Experience in preparation of test plans, test strategy, test case design and test execution.
    • Must have extensive knowledge of the development of web-based applications.
    • Experience with SQL and relational databases.
    • Ability to troubleshoot and quickly identify functional and system integration issues
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to self-manage.
    • Ability to work with tight timelines, multitask and prioritize objectives.
    • Must be positive, self-motivated, quality minded, and possess an exceptional ability to organize, communicate, and work as part of a team.
