Job Description:
We are looking for a Lead Test Engineer to join our growing team
at Sonetics - the leading provider of communication solutions that
enable natural conversation in challenging environments.We are
looking for a Lead Test Engineer to join our growing team at
Sonetics - the leading provider of communication solutions that
enable natural conversation in challenging environments.In this
role, you will have full accountability for Test Engineering at
Sonetics: clear and organized requirements engineering, prevention
of end-customer-facing design failures, and optimization of
production tools. In collaboration with key stakeholders, you will
define product specifications to meet end-customers' and
Company-internal expectations and you will design test plans to
verify product specifications for product qualification and
prevention of regressions throughout product lifecycle. You will
independently facilitate communication and scheduling with external
test labs, certification agencies, etc., to help ensure that
business timelines and objectives are met.Other key areas of
responsibility include:
- Ensure that manual or automated tests are executed to prevent
end-customer-facing field failures.
- Design and build Automated Test Equipment (ATE) for internal
design verification, calibration, programming, quality control,
etc.
- Improve Firmware Quality Assurance (QA) practices and
automation thereof.
- Clearly and professionally communicate verbally and in written
(report, presentation, email) forms internally with Quality and
Production teams at Sonetics, as well as externally with vendors
and end-customers.
- Other duties, as assignedAs a Lead Test Engineer, you are
deadline driven, highly organized, with strong attention to
details. You work independently and have proven experience
organizing and presenting requirements, proposals, deadlines, test
results, conclusions, etc. Your skills and experience
include:Required Education and Experience:
- 5+ years of professional Test Engineering experience
- B.S. in Engineering, Math, Physics, or similar
preferredRequired Skills:1) Fundamental concepts, industry
standards, Design of Experiments (DoE), test equipment, and test
design and methodology for:
- Mechanical ruggedness, including impact/drop, shock, vibration,
flex fatigue, etc.
- Environmental ruggedness, including Ingress Protection,
chemical, UV, salt fog, etc.
- Acoustic performance measurement
- Radio Frequency (RF) transceiver performance
characteristics
- Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC): emissions and
susceptibility, including Electrostatic Discharge (ESD)2)
Familiarity with common regulatory standards and certification
requirements for products: FCC/IC, CE, MIL-STD-810 & -416, etc.3)
Scripting for statistical analysis of test data: i.e., Python (w/
numpy, scipy, pandas, matplotlib, etc.) or equivalent4) Development
of programming, calibration, and test fixtures: Software
development of internal (production line, calibration, quality
control) software tools
- Basic electrical wiring design and associated wiring diagram
documentation
- Basic mechanical fixture design in SolidWorks preferred5)
Firmware Quality Assurance (SQA)SQA best practices and automation:
build environments, DevOps, etc.
- Ability to read and understand ANSI C source code
- Ability to write unit and integration tests6) Ability to
independently organize and present requirements, proposals,
deadlines, test results, conclusions, etc.
