Our team is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Newberg, OR! This is a fulltime direct hire opportunity with the world's leader in portable machining, welding, and valve testing equipment.

    The Senior level Mechanical Engineer must have experience in developing highly complex mechanical systems for use in heavy industrial global applications. The role requires supporting formal documentation in an ISO9001 facility and collaborating in a cross functional team environment using Stage/Gate product development methodologies. Translating customer requirements into a conceptual design that can be further captured into a product specification to support the end user application(s) and regulatory requirements is a must. The ability to effectively foresee product risks and mitigate them is key to on time product launch and end user product safety. The position will require the ability to define, design, test and launch new products into the marketplace quickly and effectively with little or no rework while confirming through formal test methods the product is capable of achieving the end user requirements. The extensive use of various engineering tools is critical to ensure the product features are theoretically capable of achieving the end specification as well as providing a baseline for pass/fail criteria in testing. The position requires the ability to provide updates in the status of your individual deliverables to support the cross functional team's success.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
    • Shall be a strong mechanical engineer with the ability to develop complex mechanisms with robust precision movements for machining applications.
    • Shall be capable of Quickly & Effectively modeling concepts and detailed designs using CAD software; (Autodesk Inventor preferred).
    • Shall be able to translate customer requirements into a product specification that a conceptual design can be developed from and costed to support market price targets.
    • Shall be able to collaborate with a cross functional product development team to meet or exceed the customer/market requirements and optimize costs and lead-times to market.
    • Experience in designing large fabrications with high tolerance features to support integration with electro-mechanical mechanisms.
    • Experience with sizing appropriate system power sources; hydraulic, pneumatic, AC Electrics, DC Electrics, etc.
    • Shall have experience in properly sizing components to ensure stress, strain and fatigue of components are within working range of the product application.
    • Shall have experience generating prints per ASME Y14.5-2009 standards with effective use of GD&T.
    • Able to support customer on-site testing (when necessary) and provide operational support in a real-time environment
    • Support development of product configurators for machines with multiple configuration options.
    • Travel to gather critical information to meet customer and business needs is required (passport needed). (Less than 10% travel, primarily domestic, international travel required on occasion.) EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
      • Bachelors in Engineering; 8-15 years of related design experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proven ability to manage large projects to success.
        • Excellent skills in CAD, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Project. Familiar with computer planning systems such as MRP including Bills of Materials. If you meet the qualifications and are open to relocating or working onsite in Newberg, OR - CLICK APPLY!
