As the Data Analytics Engineer, you will be responsible for developing data analysis and data products that help build better applications for our users and improve business processes for XPO Logistics. You will work with leads, developers, and data producers and consumers to understand requirements, develop technical solutions, and ensure the reliability and performance of the data products. What you'll do on a typical day: Develop data solutions/analyses using SQL, R or Python, machine learning, data modeling, visualizations Closely work with product managers to help define, prioritize, and build product features based on user or system behavior data Green field work to explore and identify business opportunities in difference use cases and data sets across the logistics domain Mine data to produce meaningful insights and actionable recommendations that will improve user experience, operational efficiency, and velocity of product development Analyze data to troubleshoot technical issues in existing processes and development work, solicit assistance from other roles and groups, and drive resolution to ensure the integrity of platform quality and project timelines Proactively generalize and share technical approaches and best practices among other developers, and simplify and communicate completed work to broader audiences across the company What you need to succeed at XPO: At a minimum, you'll need: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or related field 2 years of experience in data engineering and analytics Extensive experience writing SQL on RDBS environment is required It'd be great if you also have: 2 to 5 years of experience in data engineering and analytics, and in delivering solutions in at least two of the following: data science, data modeling, data integration, data analysis, AWS, Big Data, SQL, R, Python and Machine Learning Data Science specialization from Coursera, Udacity, Data Camp, etc.; R, Python certifications Understanding of core principles of data warehousing, data science, and machine learning Ability to work with MPP databases like Netezza, Redshift, or Teradata; write SQL fluently, recognize and correct inefficient or error-prone SQL, and perform test-driven validation of SQL queries and their results Be part of something big.
