In this role, you'll lead a team, researching trends, conducting market and competitive analysis, and formulating plans and recommendations to achieve the company's strategic objectives. Key Job Information Job Code 6960 As a senior manager, you'll provides leadership to managers and professional associates and be accountable for the performance and results of one or more teams. You'll develop departmental plans, including business, production and/or organizational priorities Your decisions will be guided by department and company objectives.
Key Responsibilities Manage Strategy Integration and Planning Operations:

  • Leads strategic team or teams in strategy assessment and development at the corporate level and across the portfolio of key strategic initiatives
  • Facilitates discussions with the company's executive leadership team to define strategic objectives and ensure organizational alignment;
  • Works directly with senior managers to develop and execute PGE's long-term strategy;
  • Translates strategic objectives into an actionable strategy and implementation plan;
  • Partners with managers across the organization to identify key strategic issues and themes.
  • Advances innovation and promotes strategic transformation across the organization. Manage Research and Analytics for Business Opportunities
    • Leads research and analytics to examine future business challenges and opportunities;
    • Develops situational assessments, scenarios and economic and risk analysis with respect to potential changes to regulation, competitive environments, markets, technology drivers, business lines and models, and organizational structures. Manage the Strategy Integration Process and Support Across Business Functions:
      • Develops and manages a strategy integration process to facilitate prioritizing and deciding on strategic projects and initiatives to increase customer value and satisfaction and drive business growth;
      • Partners with business units, functional leadership and the corporate financial planning and analysis team to support development of strategies across the company;
      • Consults with business units to challenge and influence them throughout development of business cases and strategic plans. Functional Leadership:
        • Exercises comprehensive functional and industry knowledge in specialized areas;
        • Identifies and resolves complex multidimensional business problems;
        • Exercises delegated authority over planning, direction and timely execution for a functional area or program;
        • Establishes and maintains contacts with management levels within and outside the company and at government agencies and with industry experts in accomplishing function or program objectives.
        • Sets strategy and develops plans, policies and processes for the accounting, budgeting and, where applicable, charging of department resources and services, including the definition of cost models and charging models;
        • Sets, negotiates, approves and manages all financial budgets and targets, ensuring that there is adequate funding for department objectives and plans. Resourcing:
          • Oversees workforce planning and resource strategy across multiple departments, ensuring that there is adequate skilled resource to meet planned service delivery or department objectives;
          • Ensures integration with strategic human resource plans; responsible for recruitment, development and demand forecasts for multiple departments. Professional Development:
            • Determines organizational development needs in line with business needs and strategic direction of departments; generates development strategies to achieve required change; monitors progress and evaluates business benefits achieved. Education Requires a bachelor's degree in business, finance, marketing, economics or other related field or equivalent experience. MBA or advanced degree in relevant business discipline preferred. Experience Typically 12 or more years in strategic planning, corporate development, business development, marketing, project management or management consulting in the energy or utility sector or related field.
