Job DescriptionOtak is hiring for an experienced Project
Accounting Manager to oversee the day-to-day operational activities
of the Project Accounting Department. You will work closely with
the accounting and billing/project managers in support of financial
performance of projects and activities relating to cash management
(billings, collections and accelerating cash flow). What you'll
do:
- Coordinate and lead all aspects of the invoice generation
function, including invoice preparation, collections assistance,
productivity tracking, training, delinquent billing resolution and
related documentation and invoice reporting.
- Provide project accounting training, mentoring, and development
of billing managers and project accountant team.
- Mentor and direct the work of Project Accounting staff.
- Ensure all internal project accounting financial data is
completed accurately, timely, efficiently and in accordance with
GAAP and company policy.
- Assist Project Managers in preparing project financial
performance data for monthly project review meetings.
- Participate in preparing the annual strategic plan providing
financial analysis and support.
- Responsible for process completion to support a 3-5 day month
end close including: project revenue recognition, reconciliation of
WIP (Earned but Unbilled Revenue), Accounts Receivable, A/ P Trade
- Sub Consultants, Allowance for Bad Debt, Intercompany
Receivables, Unearned Revenue, revenue in excess of cost, and notes
receivable.
- Collaborates with finance leadership to support weekly cash
forecasting, external financial audit, FAR audit and government
reporting, as needed.What you bring:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of related accounting experience.
- Proven ability to manage an accounting team.
- Previous demonstrated experience working in a professional
services environment.
- Cash/collection management experience.
- Previous experience with Deltek Vision or Vantagepoint; Deltek
Administration experience preferred.Must be fully vaccinated for
COVID-19 including 2 doses of a 2-dose series or 1 dose of a 1-dose
series plus 14 days beyond the final dose prior to start
