just the numbers. Footwear Costing builds value for NIKE and our
Manufacturing partners through our driver-based costing platform
providing transparency and practical insights regarding the costs
of developing and manufacturing Nike Footwear across the source
base. Footwear Costing is highly cross-functional considering and
incorporating inputs across Footwear Development, Planning,
Sourcing, Engineering, Finance as well as NIKE's Manufacturing
partners to drive framework evolution and the annual rate
setting/partner compensation processes. WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR As
the Director of Footwear Rates and Compensation, you manage a team
of Costing experts, collaborate with Footwear Cost Engineering, and
quote management experts across Asia. You are responsible for the
efficient and effective execution of the rate-setting/partner
compensation processes, the development and evolution of costing
strategies and standards, the communication of Costing related
insights and outcomes to NIKE internal partners (e.g., Product
Creation, Engineering, Sourcing, Finance) and NIKE's Manufacturing
partners. You are encouraged to cultivate trust-based and
collaborative partnerships with NIKE internal customers and NIKE's
Manufacturing partners. As a ground-breaking leader, you will
recruit, train, and develop a team. Given the cross-functional
nature of the role, you are encouraged to contribute to Costing
strategy development and deployment across NIKE's Footwear source
base!
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON Your team will collaborate with Product
Creation to advise and facilitate decisions throughout the product
creation process delivering against product briefs and NIKE's
profitability expectations. Together, we will work closely with
Product Creation, Engineering, Planning, Manufacturing Partners,
and Finance to actively lead cost drivers across the FOB (Direct
Labor, Overhead, Partner Investments, and Productivity). This
includes implementing the Overhead rate-setting process across all
Footwear partners, developing and evolving framework standards, and
year over year, season over season deep dive comparisons across all
elements of the FOB/partner compensation.
We will ask you to lead and influence strategic costing and
optimization discussions with NIKE's Manufacturing Partners
throughout all phases of creation and production. You will clearly
and concisely communicate costing strategies using framework and
financial insights for partner, product, and process improvements.
Further, you will help drive the continuous improvement of NIKE's
costing framework including functional initiatives turning new
costing and manufacturing concepts into reality. WHO YOU WILL WORK
WITH You will partner closely with important team members across
NIKE's Finance organization translating financial planning
guardrails into costing strategies and mechanisms. You are
encouraged to have strong financial savvy and a solid understanding
of NIKE's financial planning processes and financial metrics which
are impacted by Footwear Costing strategies and the execution of
the Footwear Costing process. Effective and concise communication
of costing strategies and costing metrics to key Finance members is
key to being successful in the role. You are a key partner in
leading NIKE's financial performance as well as the financial
health of NIKE's Manufacturing partners.
You will report to the Sr. Director NCF Program/Footwear
Compensation. You will be an integral member of the Supply Chain
Finance, Global Finance and Footwear Manufacturing leadership
teams. WHAT YOU BRING - Bachelor/Master degree in Finance,
Engineering, Business Management, Operations, or related field or
equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 10 years of proven experience in Finance, Engineering,
Manufacturing or Operations; or a combination of professions -
Solid understanding of manufacturing, innovation, costing, and
global business management; experience with the footwear supply
chain is a plus - Demonstrated ability to provide strategic
functional and team leadership across extended regional teams in a
remote work setting - A pragmatic thinker and creative problem
solver who will proactively research and drive collective
resolution - Strong influencing skills, ability to act as a trusted
advisor - Ability to maintain a high level of integrity, remain
flexible, be results-oriented, and work efficiently within a
matrixed and decentralized organization - Strong analytical skills
and ability to execute/guide deployment of sophisticated analytical
tools - High proficiency using MS Excel and PowerPoint - Ability to
travel 10-20% of the time Nike requires all applicants for this
