The Director, CMO Strategic Operations will p artner with the System Chief Medical Officer to organize all aspects of the CMO team to ensure alignment with the mission, vision, values, and priorities of Legacy Health. They will work to engage the CMO team and key internal/external stakeholders to constantly improve care for our patients, our people, and our communities, constantly striving to improve daily work in support of a patient-centered care model. The successful candidate must have strong organizational skills, as well as the ability to communicate clear expectations of outcomes to produce excellent results. In collaboration with the CMO team and senior leaders, this role will exercise responsible leadership to promote the vision and strategies of Legacy Health.   • Heads the administrative initiatives for the System Chief Medical Officer (CMO). Works directly with the CMO team members to support system priorities, including all matters related to the medical group, quality/safety/risk, academics/GME, research, and medical staff affairs. Provides assistance to the CMO and direct reports in establishing consistent philosophy and objectives related to the priorities of Legacy Health and the Office of the CMO.
  • Recommends, develops, and updates long-range plans to align the Office of the CMO with the broader health system priorities, philosophies and strategic goals. Encourages the integration of the members of the CMO team with the community through effective communication amongst public relations, marketing programs.
  • Coordinates strategy deployment of key initiatives across the entire CMO team, including oversight of project management and coordination between teams. Leverages process improvement via Lean methodologies (Legacy Operating System) and is responsible for delivering results across a highly matrixed organization.
  • Maintains professional affiliations and enhances professional growth and development to keep current in the latest trends in health system administration. Aids the CMO and senior management to develop specific programs, products and services aligned with Legacy's mission and vision. Serves as a liaison between the Office of the CMO and internal/external support departments and/or stakeholders.
  • Assists in creating leadership development programs and partners to create governance/structure to support institute/service line structure within a large provider group practice. Participates in the development and oversight of provider compensation plans.
  • Partners with key stakeholders for data analysis related to quality/safety, patient experience, engagement, financial. Assists in the preparation and approval of CMO team budgets and capital requests. Participates in the development and implementation of long-range plans and budgets (both capital and operating).
  • Manages and coordinates teams to plan and implement system projects driven by the CMO team. Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies governing health care delivery and the rules of accrediting bodies. Analyzes and recommends changes in organizational systems, policies and procedures and ensures their implementation.
  • Coordinates with key stakeholders to ensure all clinical activities fulfill support Legacy's mission and vision to provide high quality, safe, patient-centered care. Qualifications Education Master's degree in business administration, health services administration, or equivalent. Experience Minimum of six years progressive responsibility and experience within a healthcare environment with large health system experience preferred within a matrixed organization. Prior responsibilities should include working directly with physician leaders and large provider groups in both inpatient and ambulatory setting. In-depth knowledge in developing, implementing and managing systems that efficiently and effectively support provider group operations and medical staff affairs. Demonstrated ability to effectively work with physicians. Knowledge of administrative and managerial systems and roles. Knowledge of financial and marketing systems. Knowledge of healthcare issues, demographics and payment systems. Experience in a competitive, managed care market. Project management experience required, and process improvement experience preferred. Skills Requires critical thinking, decisiveness, good judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in an ambiguous and/or stressful environment and take appropriate action to create structure, governance, and process redesign to build efficient and effective teams. Experience using every day technology tools (email, spreadsheets, word processing, voicemail, internet/intranet) to access, organize and store job-related information.
