DescriptionESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides leadership and management to all shop personnel and the company
  • Develops employees skills with on-the-job training or other means; identifies and communicates training needs to the Training department and/or the Senior Fleet Manager
  • Ensures internal and external production requirements and scheduling requirements are effectively met and that the team perform work with an emphasis on customer service, quality, attention to detail, safety, and workmanship
  • Establishes the annual operational budget, determines staffing levels, and identifies any capital expenditure requirements annually, makes concerted effort to manage the established budget
  • Establishes and regularly evaluates labor/staffing requirements
  • Works closely with department directors and program managers on determining internal and external work requirements, production scheduling (short term and long term), and production priorities
  • Ensures regular oversight of all inspection findings and work performed and that corrective actions are accurately documented in the appropriate maintenance record
  • Performs regular review of overall work package documentation of accurate time accounting and materials used while keeping to project timeline
  • Utilizes Lean continuous improvement tools and constantly strives to identify and eliminate waste (in all its forms) to improve quality and safety, decrease lead time, and reduce cost; uses the proper problem solving techniques to address issues
  • Ensures that tools and equipment are well maintained, operable and accounted for; ensures shop areas are kept clean, orderly, and FOD free
  • Conducts employee performance evaluations, corrective actions, and builds compensation budget; interviews, hires and promotes, anticipates and plans for skills and human resource requirements; interprets and applies organization policies and provides leadership to resolve employee matters
  • Other duties as assigned, including acting as Hangar Operations Supervisor and Lead responsibilitiesMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
    • High school diploma or equivalent required, additional education preferred
    • Minimum 8 years experience of aircraft maintenance with emphasis on structures and airframe systems
    • Familiar with the systems and operation of Columbia Model 107-II, Columbia Model 234 and Columbia CH-47D aircraft is preferred
    • Minimum 5 years supervisory experience preferred with demonstrated leadership skills and ability to train and coach employees
    • Familiar with the products and processes associated with aircraft and aircraft component maintenance and manufacturing
    • Certificated per FAR Part 65 and have the potential to obtain maintenance release and inspection authorizations
    • Understanding of repair station procedures, quality management systems, air carrier programs (CAMP, GMM, GOM) and procedures, and associated federal aviation regulations
    • Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license required
    • Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently
    • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
