Director of Development, PSU Arts, is responsible for advancing
fundraising efforts and managing strong relationships for a select
portfolio of prospects. The Assistant Director of Development will
also work collaboratively with other foundation employees,
university faculty and administration to plan and implement
solicitation strategies for university priorities.Specifically, the
Assistant Director of Development for PSU Arts works as a part of
the development team that advances relationships and support for
the College of the Arts, Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art at PSU and
the PSU art collection, partnering with the dean, museum director
and faculty/staff to support the philanthropic goals and
priorities.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide broad-based prospect and project management support to
unit team. Manage special projects and maintain annual and other
donor stewardship procedures and collateral with appropriate unit
and PSU Foundation staff such as, but not limited to, program,
scholarship and endowment reporting.
- Increase gift revenue while broadening the pipeline for
special, major and principal gifts.
- Develop and maintain strong solicitation, engagement and
stewardship approaches for key constituencies (alumni, faculty,
staff and donors).
- Prioritize high value opportunities to engage donors in making
transformational differences in the lives of students, faculty,
programs and learning spaces.
- Participate in annual and strategic development planning that
continuously improves fundraising and engagement.
- Coordinate database list requests from unit partners and
provide reporting support to university partners.
- Attend and assist with development-related events.
- Positively represent the PSU Foundation and the University in
public and professional ways.
- May delegate work to Development Coordinator.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.Measures of Success:
- Meet or exceed frontline fundraising metrics, including
face-to-face visits, submitted/funded proposals, individual and
unit fundraising.
- Effective management of portfolio of prospects through all
phases of the donor cultivation cycle, with special emphasis on
cultivating and soliciting gifts and grants of $5K or more.
- Effective relationship management both internally with PSU
partners/units and externally with donors/prospects. Education and
Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and
experience.
- Minimum of two to three years of relevant fundraising
experience, including proven success in securing five-figure gifts
and grants.
- Fundraising experience in higher education preferred,
particularly at a large, public institution or comparably complex
organization with multiple stakeholders. -Knowledge, Skills &
Abilities Requirements:
- Knowledge of Portland's donor community, preferred.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution
skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a matrixed environment placing a
high premium on collaboration toward shared goal and understanding
complex processes.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with necessary
stakeholders, both internal and external to the organization and at
every level.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
simultaneously.
- Ability to deploy discretion related to confidential
information.
- Demonstrated computer proficiency, including experience using
Microsoft Office, Google Applications, DocuSign and other paperless
management tools. -
- Demonstrate reliable, regular, and predictable work
attendance.
- Self-motivated and require little guidance to tackle projects,
tasks and priorities.
- Ability to work productively and collaboratively within an
equitable and inclusive team environment, and to communicate
effectively and problem solve within the context of diverse
behaviors, orientations, identities, and cultural backgrounds.Other

- Workdays/Hours: Full Time, 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday
- Work Type: We currently have a hybrid work model at the PSU
Foundation. The Assistant Director of Development, PSU Arts will be
required to work at least 16-24 hours/week on Portland State
University campus and the remainder of the work week may be worked
remotely in Oregon or Washington. - - - -Compensation and Benefits:

- Annual Compensation: $44,700 - $55,900 (depending on
experience)
