Department Overview
Applications are invited for an exciting opportunity to join the
OHSU Knight Cancer Institute as the Director of the Bone Marrow
Transplantation (BMT) program. -
Successful candidates will receive a faculty appointment within the
Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology. Faculty applicants may
be eligible for senior faculty positions, based on external funding
and publications, commensurate with experience, as determined by
the OHSU School of Medicine. -
Function/Duties of Position
The Director of Adult Blood & Marrow Transplantation shall lead all
aspects of the BMT program including education, research, and
clinical programming. The Adult BMT Director will report to the
Head of the Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology.
Anticipated institutional collaborative efforts for managing the
BMT program will include efforts with the Doernbecher Pediatric BMT
Program leader, OHSU Cellular Therapy Program Leader, Hematology &
Oncology Division Medical Director, the OHSU Hematology & Oncology
Division Quality Director, OHSU Vice President for Oncology
Services, as well as members of other Knight Cancer Institute
leadership team, to design and execute strategic initiatives. The
BMT Director will serve as the Program Director for hematopoietic
cellular therapy in accordance with FACT-JACIE Standards. The BMT
Director may delegate specific duties to other faculty leaders in
support of the BMT program.
Currently, shared direction is planned for the OHSU Hematopoietic
Cellular Therapy and the Immune Effector Cell therapy
programs.
BMT Program leadership roles: The following faculty leadership
roles are in place or may be created. Collaborative management is
anticipated and necessary where these positions will work directly
with the BMT Director to effectively implement the program.
Accountability for assessing Adult BMT program success and to
establish prospective Adult BMT program targets will be assessed
annually with Hematology & Oncology Division, OHSU hospital and
Knight Cancer Institute leaderships.
It is anticipated the position will be made up of the following
components: Clinical, teaching research/academic, and inpatient
service. -
