OnsiteCollins Aerospace Vision Systems Engineering is responsible for all engineering tasks related to the design, analysis, test and certification of Aircraft Vision Systems, both in the commercial and military fields. The Sr. Systems Engineering manager is responsible for leading a team in the development of Vision Systems Engineering programs from initial concept until the introduction into production.
This position is a Sr. Systems Engineering management position with an emphasis on program coordination and execution. The manager is responsible for coordinating a group of Systems Engineers in the development of Electro-Opto-Mechanical hardware/firmware in an avionics environment. The manager is responsible for hiring, resource planning and allocation, career development, salary planning, tracking employee performance and execution of their assignments. This position will work with little or no supervision.

  • Plan and track the activities of Systems engineers during the development of complex aircraft vision systems in a regulated avionics environment
  • Create, staff, and track program schedules.
  • Recruit, develop, mentor, and train Systems Engineering talent
  • Support bid and proposal activities for Engineering projects
  • Coordinate strategies with Engineering leadership and lead the implementation with the Systems Engineers

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience *or *an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience *or* in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience
  • 10+ years of Engineering development in an avionics environment required.
  • Engineering project leadership in an earned value, process-controlled environment is required.

        The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
