The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will serve as a key member of Company’s Executive Leadership Team as a trusted strategist and technology advisor. The CTO has direct leadership over our engineering department including both internal and external facing software development teams. This is a highly influential and impactful role where collaboration is essential to success. Working with peers in Product and our customer facing teams, the CTO will partner to define and implement the product and technology strategies across our award winning suite of products. With a talented team of engineers and leaders already in place, we are seeking an exceptional people focused executive with broad technical chops to lead Company through our next stage of growth. What You’ll Be Doing: Serve on the executive team, providing insight, driving key strategies and decisions that center on timely, high quality delivery of features, enhancements and long-term projects. Partner with the Executive Leadership Team in planning, refining, and implementing corporate growth strategies and goals. Partner with Product; set the technical direction as well as build and execute against project plans that drive engineering/product development goals. Measure and assess success and progress throughout a modern SaaS software company. Lead our internal processes and protocol for security, quality assurance and risk management. Lead and expand our fantastic team; building a high-capacity development organization through the growth stage while evolving and cultivating a dynamic culture. Foster a culture around Engineering’s core values of growth mindset, putting the team first and customer focus. Empower and inspire a strong bench of leaders that are held accountable to manage their high performing, collaborative teams. Through a combination of personal experience and team development, arrive at enterprise-class technical architectures that supports our long term growth goals. Manage the development release cycles to ensure continuing progress, and consistent on-time delivery of high quality software and application features. Make critical decisions in and timely manner, using excellent judgement when information may not be available.Able to work well through ambiguity, being bold in making tough calls and leading through adversity without losing sight of the outcome. Proactively identify inefficiencies in business practice and execution across the company, offering innovative solutions and best practices that will expedite deliverables and create needed transparency across the enterprise. Engaging with prospective and current customers as needed to discuss our technical roadmap, strategy and instill confidence in our teams. What You’ll Need: Four year college or university degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent; master’s degree preferred. Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible software engineering management, with experience in enterprise SaaS. Experience building a very scalable, high performing SaaS platform who will bring tested methodologies and tools of iterative, asynchronous development to Company. Agile is a must. Must be comfortable in a small entrepreneurial environment where limited support or information may be available. Able to navigate seamlessly between setting a strategy and executing/implementing. Broad technical expertise that will inspire engineers and encourage creative, collaborative problem solving. Previous successful start-up experience a major plus, especially at the growth phase from $20M+ Proven results as business leader, providing value beyond traditional engineering. Exceptional people and organizational leadership, with a track record of leading high performing teams through change and growth. Able to attract, inspire and retain all levels of software engineering talent from new college grads through chief architect level. Strong interpersonal, presentation and negotiating skills to quickly establish rapport and credibility at all levels within an organization, including the C- and board-level.
