Quality Clinicians is seeking a travel nurse RN Pediatrics for a travel nursing job in Portland, Oregon.Job Description & Requirements

    APHON Chemo/Biotherapy Provider
    PEARS or PALS

    Every other Weekend/Holiday shifts required
    13 weeks
    Start Date: 11/28, 12/12

    Number of beds: 9 exam rooms
    Hours of operation: Patient appointment times available Monday through Friday 8:30 am-4:00 pm, excluding observed holidays
    Age groups served: X infants X adolescents X young adults
    Patient classification: X ambulatory
    Primary services provided:
    1) Evaluation of oncologic and hematologic healthcare needs, and provision of emergency care during the critical phase/s of illness.
    2) Family education and support during all phases of treatment for cancer and blood disorders.
    3) Comprehensive plan of care and family teaching to facilitate home care and access to community resources.

    Specific treatment modalities and clinical services provided by the Children's Cancer and Blood Disorders Program include:

    1. Diagnosis and management of malignant and non-malignant disease
    2. Determination of eligibility for clinical trials/ research study
    3. Care provider physical exams
    4. Peripheral lab draws and IV starts
    5. Central venous catheter maintenance, access, flush and lab draws
    6. Outpatient chemotherapy
    7. Scheduling and pre-authorization for diagnostic and follow-up testing
    8. IV hydration
    9. Pre-admission work up (IV fluid, labs)
    10. Off treatment follow-up
    11. Financial and social services needs assessments
    12. Referrals to pediatric subspecialty services
    13. Monitoring of investigational drugs
    14. Management of acute and chronic drug toxicities


    expects travelers to float within a site and across the system according to Organizational policy. Travelers are required to complete any education assigned within one week of assignment. Low Census Mandatory cancellation terms: Must cancel 1.5 hours before the start of a shift. Personnel may be mandatorily cancelled one shift per two week pay period without cause or penaltyQuality Clinicians Job ID #4a1892217.
