Description: Portland VA Healthcare SystemWisestaff is currently seeking qualified and compassionate Emergency Medicine Registered Nurses (RNs) to service a contract at the VAPORHCS. The VA Portland Health Care System provides outstanding health care, trains America's future health care providers, and conducts important medical research.Requirements (Duties include but are not limited to)Providing professional nursing care principles, practices and procedures required to assess needs of patientsKnowledge of pharmaceuticals, their desired effects, side effects, and complications of their use; recognizing adverse signs and symptoms which are not always apparent and to react promptly in emergency situations including the implementation of life saving proceduresProviding counseling, guidance and health instruction to patientsIdentifying disease entities to recognize complications and therapeutic interventions requiredProvide professional nursing duties according to established professional nursing principles, practices, and procedures in an MS setting, assessing patient's physical, emotional, spiritual and socio-cultural needsDemonstrate skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient servedRequirements: Registered Nurse (RN) Requirements:Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in Nursing OR- Possess a diploma or associate degree in professional nursingMust possess a current, valid, unrestricted RN nursing license in any stateMust have a minimum of 12 months RN experience in an Emergency Medicine or ICU environment during the last 4 yearsCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) as approved by the American Heart Association (AHA) is mandatory for all specialties.PI201441541
