Looking for Clinical Experience? We are hiring a Medical Assistant/Scribe at our NW Portland Location. Are you looking to gain clinical experience before applying to medical school, PA school or nursing school? This is a great clinical patient contact opportunity working closely with medical doctors (MD) and physician assistants (PA) and Nurse Practitioners (NPs) in a busy outpatient setting taking care a wide variety of medical and surgical patients with vein and vascular issues. We have a specific program with modular learning, on the job training and direct mentoring by experienced surgeons, physician assistants, nurse practitioners and others. Over the years we have worked with a number of early career people looking for direct patient experience who have successfully gone on to medical school, PA school and Nursing school after working with us. Not only do you obtain the hours of experience you need, we have a very hands on training and mentoring program where we help you get the skills you will need as you advance in your healthcare career including assisting in minor procedures, electronic medical records, scribing and lots of direct patient contact interviewing and taking care of patients of all walks of life. The ideal candidate: -- Planning to pursue a healthcare related field and looking for 1 to 2 years of clinical experience -- Must possess excellent, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills -- Strong computer and typing skills -- Proficient in medical terminology - or are quick to learn Vein terminology -- Ability to think ahead and critical thinking skills a must -- Scribe experience preferred, but not required - will train the right person -- Ability to assist in outpatient medical procedures -- Medical or dental experience is a plus but not required. We will train the right person. -- Value and can contribute to teamwork and positive company culture What to expect: -- Face-to-face patient contact -- Greet and room patients -- Obtain and record vitals -- Setup and Assist MD in sterile in-office procedures -- Scribe notes as directed by Physician in EMR system -- Learn about medicine and medical decision making This is a full-time position Monday - Friday 8am-5pm.
