a local contract nursing job in Portland, Oregon. Job Description &

Medical Coordinator Salary: $43.86/hr. - $48.85/hr. (Bilingual
Spanish) $47.81/hr. - $53.25/hr. Schedule: Primarily Monday -
Friday, 40hrs/wk (Some weekends, evenings, and on call required)
Setting: Nonprofit, Shelter Required Position Qualifications: -
Minimum of 1 year of employment in public health or a heathcare
setting with demonstrated experience in care coordination, heath
administration or direct clinical care - Licensed Registered Nurse
with a bachelor’s OR - Higher health-related qualification (e.g.
Physical Assistant, Nurse Practitioner) skills required. Preferred
Position Qualifications: - Bilingual abilities, including the
ability to speak, read, write, and translate documents in Spanish.
- Experience in child and/or adolescent health care preferred. Job
Summary: The Lead Medical Coordinator is responsible for overseeing
health services as well as coordinating the provision of timely,
appropriate health services for clients in care. Supervises the
medical coordinator and provides appropriate staff training on
medical, dental, and public health topics relevant to pediatric,
adolescent, and migrant health. Responsible for developing and
maintaining policies and procedures for confidential health record
management, triage of health concerns, medical emergency response,
environmental health and safety, and post-release health-care
planning/care coordination. Duties and Responsibilities: - Manage
the ORR medical services department and its employees, ensuring
departmental compliance with all pertinent Office Refugee
Resettlement and state health care regulations, contract and
internal policies and procedures. - Administer and oversee nursing
healthcare and services, including mental health nursing
care/services, to clients ensuring all daily health care needs are
complete and in compliance with state regulations, Joint Commission
and Division of Health for Unaccompanied Children & Morrison. -
Coordinate healthcare services between the program and off-campus
healthcare providers to maintain appropriate and relevant
continuity of client healthcare. Gather and provide relevant
documentation to ensure continuity of care. - Provide leadership
and direct supervision to assigned staff: - ?Provide supervision
and performance evaluations following agency protocol and policy. -
?Implement discipline and termination procedures when needed;
monitor and review work performed under the direction of the
Program Director. - ?Ensure all staff are trained as stated in
guidelines for program, agency and grant requirements. - ?Provide
regular individual supervisory meetings with staff and team
meetings. - Oversee/provide training regarding medication
dispensation and documentation to assigned Medical Service
Coordinator and Youth Care Workers, ensuring that medications are
available as needed, stored properly, and administered in a timely
and safe manner. - Develop & maintain policies and procedures for
medication administration. Responsible for creating new trainings
offered to personnel who administer medication to client in care. -
Ensure that health services staff and treatment staff learn and
follow agency policies and procedures regarding health care and
administering medications to clients. - Ensure that appropriate and
adequate infection control activities occur at the Program. -
Conduct regular reviews of Medication Administration Records for
compliance. - Work with Medical Services Coordinators on insurance
pre-approvals for medical services, as well as oversight in the
completion of discharge documentation, and other medical-related
paperwork such as Serious Medical Procedures - Act as a liaison
between the program, agency and new healthcare providers. -
Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings and discussion. -
Attend psychiatric assessment and follow-up meetings regarding
management of psychiatric medications and psychiatric disorders as
needed. - Participate in staff development, in-services, and
training related to workplace effectiveness; model professional
behaviors and implement improvements to business practices with
awareness of their impact in a trauma-informed behavioral
healthcare organization. - Participate in Agency’s Medical
Administration Committee - Review client level events related to
medication administration &/or healthcare errors. - Demonstrate
a commitment to developing a thorough knowledge and application of
the Sanctuary model and other organizational policies & practices.
- Participate in staff development, in-services, and training
related to workplace effectiveness; model professional behaviors
and implement improvements to business practices with awareness of
their impact in a trauma-informed behavioral healthcare
organization. - Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

primary care to youth in the program. - Knowledge of psychotropic
medication; purposes and side effects. - Ability to offer medical
perspective and observation to team. - Ability to communicate
effectively both verbally and writing with a broad variety of
people, including staff, supervisors, and managers. - Ability to
coordinate, manage and complete various projects in a timely and
efficient manner. - Demonstrated ability to exercise tact,
discretion and judgment while working with a variety of people. -
Demonstrated understanding of an ability to maintain appropriate
professional boundaries while working with others and in handling
confidential information. - Implements intervention strategies
consistent with client information and goals. - Demonstrates the
ability to recognize professional limitations and seeks supervision
when appropriate. - Acknowledges and respects all individuals and
demonstrate openness to providing trauma-informed responsive care
and treatment to clients and their families. - Demonstrates
knowledge and skill in assessing suicide risk factors and
facilitating screening and triage. - Demonstrates sufficient
knowledge to support clients experiencing a mental health crisis
including de-escalation techniques and facilitating access to
appropriate crisis services. - Understands and complies with
mandatory reporting requirements. Use developmentally appropriate
and trauma informed approach to follow agency protocol for
assessment and intervention. Required Position Qualifications: -

Other Requirements: - Must complete bloodborne pathogens training
first day of employment and annually thereafter. - Pass a criminal
history background check though Morrison and a suitability
determination investigation through the U.S. Office of Personnel
Management. For further information review : - Must work some
evenings and some weekends, as needed and scheduled. - Must be
available for periodic, medically related, on-call coverage -
CPR/SFA obtained within 30 days of employment and kept current. -
Must complete and maintain required trainings. - Must pass language
testing if applicable For positions that require driving: - Must
hold valid driver’s license— Oregon or Washington within 30 days of
hire - If driving personal vehicle, must maintain minimum auto
insurance policy Working Conditions: - Environment: Work is done in
clinical offices, community settings, including Morrison
Residential, administration buildings, public locations, and social
service sites. Breaks and meals are subject to interruption.
Universal Precautions and remaining alert to the environment are
critical to address the potential for violent behavior, exposure to
disease, biohazards, noise, and contaminants. - Mental demands:
Work assigned is diverse and may involve addressing new and unique
circumstances. The work might be unpredictable and disrupts planned
tasks, requiring flexible time management. - Physical demands:
Ability to remain calm and emotionally available serving youth,
adults and or families who have experienced trauma. Proficient with
office equipment and physical movement. Ability to perform physical
interventions if needed in accordance with program and training.
Physical dexterity for reaching, stooping, and repetitive wrist and
