TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified NICU RN in Portland, Oregon, 97239! Pay Information $2,670 per week About The Position Job Title: NICU RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: NICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Level 4 NICU License: Valid state license preferred at the time of submission Certifications: BLS, NRP Must-Have: Experience in Bubble CPAP, Tracheostomy care/management, Ventilator management, and PA lines Description: This position involves working in a Level 4 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The unit has a patient population of critically ill, convalescing, and growing premature and term newborns. Admissions come from a high-risk perinatal department as well as transports from other healthcare facilities. The primary mission is to provide family-centered care for fragile patients and their families. Specialists are available in various fields, including endocrine, pulmonary, genetics, renal, metabolic, ophthalmology, neurology, and pediatric surgery. The facility is a teaching institution where nurses participate in the education of students and residents in pediatric care. Staffing ratios are 2 patients per nurse during both day and night shifts. Nurses may float within the hospital. First-timers are accepted with 3 years of experience. Weekends are required as part of the role. Candidates must possess certifications in BLS and NRP. Candidates with PALS may be floated to pediatric floors if necessary. The unit cares for neonates and infants, with a daily census of approximately 44 patients. The equipment used includes HFOV, Bubble CPAP, Conventional Ventilators, and Therapeutic Hypothermia. Interdisciplinary support is provided by various teams such as IV Teams, Physical Therapy, and Social Services. Patients may include surgical cases and those with tracheostomies.
