TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Oncology RN in Portland, Oregon, 97239! Pay Information $2,400 per week About The Position Job Title: Pediatric Hematology/Oncology RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Oncology - Pediatric Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years of pediatric & BMT/cellular therapy experience required License: Valid state license preferred Certifications: BLS, PALS, chemotherapy/biotherapy provider card Must-Have: Pediatric and BMT/cellular exposure and experience required Experience with pediatric oncology diagnosis is essential Description: The Pediatric Hematology/Oncology RN provides intermediate level of care to patients ages 0-18. Obstetric patients less than 18 with a new Hematology/Oncology/BMT diagnosis will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. Patients with specific pediatric oncology diagnosis may be followed until the age of 25 years. Presenting diagnoses may include leukemia, brain tumors, bone tumors, sarcoma, lymphomas, blood diseases, immunological diseases, storage diseases, bone marrow transplants, and graft versus host disease patients. Nurses will provide support to Hematology/Oncology/BMT patients on other units, including, but not limited to, chemotherapy support, expertise with BMT patients, and central lines. The patient ratios are 1:3 for days and nights. Weekend coverage is required. Floating within the hospital is expected, but floating to sister facilities is not permitted. Candidates must be open to working weekends. First-time travelers may apply if they have 3 or more years of relevant experience. Experience in administering chemotherapy, managing central lines, symptom management, and pediatric dosage calculations is necessary. Experience with oncologic emergencies, handling body fluids post-chemotherapy, and starting and maintaining IVs is also required.
