Job Description & Requirements Specialty: NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care Discipline: RN Start Date: 02/11/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - NICU Job Details: • Work 3x12 hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM • Float to care for patients within scope of competency for patients less than one year of age • May float to PICU, Peds Acute (Infants floor), or NICU Overflow Location • Required to work 2 Saturdays and 2 Sundays in a 6-week period • Must work at least 1 holiday per assignment • On-call may be required depending on unit needs • 1 year of experience required with previous travel experience mandatory • Required certifications: BLS, NRP • Oregon state license required or proof of license application/fingerprints • Must complete any assigned education within one week of assignment • Epic charting system experience required • Must pass Epic Test Out Module or complete mandatory 8-hour training • Scrub colors: Any color except black and camo • Care for neonates admitted directly from L&D, ED, or transferred from other facilities • Attend high-risk deliveries and assist with specialized procedures • Work with special equipment including neonatal beds, Neopuff, and NicView cameras • Patient ratios and length of stay vary from 1 day to 100 days • Guaranteed contracted hours with low census cancellation policy • Must cancel 1.5 hours before shift start if needed • No RTO within first week of assignment, maximum 7 days RTO per assignment • Cannot live within 50 miles of any Legacy facility Facility: This specialized children's hospital features a comprehensive NICU with 45 beds and 38 rooms, maintaining a daily census of approximately 28 patients. The facility provides three different levels of neonatal intensive care and offers extensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, and pharmacy support. The NICU is equipped with advanced neonatal technology and performs specialized procedures including exchange transfusions, body cooling, and CRRT, with on-unit surgeries performed by visiting OR teams.
