Job Description:
AP/CP Board Certified Surgical Pathologist needed near Portland,
Oregon A leading independent pathology services and cancer
diagnostics company is seeking an AP/CP Board Certified Surgical
Pathologist to join our hospital-based laboratory in Oregon near
Portland and Eugene. The practice serves four Hospital systems and
numerous clinics and individual practitioners in the area. As a
primary diagnostic center, the pathology material is always
interesting and sometimes quite challenging. The ideal candidate
must be comfortable with a broad range of surgical pathology cases,
GYN and non-GYN cytopathology, performance and interpretation of
bone marrow biopsies and frozen sections. Subspecialty expertise in
Breast Pathology or Gastrointestinal Pathology preferred.
Experience serving as a Medical Director of a clinical or histology
laboratory highly valued. Excellent interpersonal skills are a
must. - The group consists of 7 pathologists 5 FT, 2 PT. - Last
Year's Volumes 40k accessions - Approximately 45% hospital, 65%
outreach (heavy in GI). They do both Gyn and non-gyn cytology. - Do
rotate and cover all hospitals - vacation coverage - Perform a
small number of autopsies (6-10/year) - Call - once every 5 weeks
Salary of $250K - $300K/year depending on experience and
subspecialty. Applicants must hold an MD or DO degree, be board
certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and be eligible for an
unrestricted Oregon license. City is in the heart of the Willamette
