We are seeking a qualified Pediatric Child Life Specialist to join our non-profit health system spread across Oregon and Washington. As a Pediatric Child Life Specialist, you will play a critical role in enhancing our pediatric care by using your unique skills to support children and their families during hospital stays, medical procedures, and throughout the continuum of care. Your contributions will be crucial in making our youngest patients’ health journeys as comfortable and positive as possible, by providing emotional support and age-appropriate education. Provide emotional support and therapeutic interventions to pediatric patients and their families. Develop and implement individualized care plans based on each child's needs, medical treatments, and developmental stage. Educate children and families about medical procedures, conditions, and coping strategies through age-appropriate resources. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to advocate for the child's best interest and integrate child life services. Maintain documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient progress. Facilitate play sessions that promote normalization, socialization, and coping skills. Train and supervise volunteers and interns in the child life program. Expertise in child development and psychology Strong communication and empathy skills Ability to devise and explain care plans and interventions to both children and adults Knowledge of healthcare procedures and terminology Crisis intervention and emotional support expertise Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) credential required.
