Legacy Health, a leading non-profit health system renowned for compassionate care and medical excellence, is seeking a Medical Assistant Extern for our clinics across Oregon and Washington. As part of our externship program, you will gain hands-on experience in a dynamic clinical environment, supporting healthcare professionals while enhancing your medical skills and knowledge. Assist in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician. Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations. Obtain and record patient history and vital signs. Contribute to the administration of medications as directed by a physician. Perform routine laboratory tests and administrative duties as needed. Ensure the healthcare environment is clean, safe, and stocked with necessary supplies. Strong interpersonal and communication skills Basic understanding of medical terminology Ability to operate standard medical and diagnostic equipment Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k BLS Certification required or must be obtained within 3 months of hire. Completion of a Medical Assistant training program.
