Job Description:
Legacy Health is seeking a dedicated Child Abuse Specialist to
join our compassionate medical team, dedicated to improving the
health and well-being of children who have experienced abuse. Based
in either Oregon or Washington, this pivotal role involves working
closely with multi-disciplinary teams to provide holistic treatment
and support for the victims of child abuse and neglect. The
successful candidate will be actively involved in diagnosis,
intervention, and follow-up care, while also contributing to
community education and prevention efforts. This role requires
superior interpersonal skills, an understanding of pediatric
healthcare, and the ability to work sensitively with distressed
children and families. Evaluate children for signs of abuse and
neglect. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers,
and law enforcement to provide comprehensive care and protection.
Develop and implement treatment plans specific to the needs of each
child. Document all findings and treatments accurately and
comprehensively. Provide expert testimony in court cases when
necessary. Engage in continuous education regarding child abuse
dynamics and treatment approaches. Participate in community
outreach and educational programs to help prevent child abuse.
Strong diagnostic skills in pediatric healthcare. Excellent
communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle sensitive
situations with empathy and confidentiality. Experience in
providing testimony in legal situations. Proficient in maintaining
accurate patient records and reports. Medical Insurance Dental
Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Certified Child Life
Specialist (CCLS) preferred. Valid nursing or clinical social
worker license in Oregon or Washington.
