Position Type: Classified Employee/ Health Care Coordinator Date Posted: 3/31/2026 Location: Castle Rock School District Date Available: 05/01/2026 Closing Date: 04/17/2026 Castle Rock School District would like to announce the opening for the position of Health Care Coordinator. This position will be located at either the high school or middle school with travel to other district buildings as needed. This position will be for approximately six and 1/2 (6.5) hours per day, five (5) days per week based on when students are in attendance. Applicant must hold either a certified nursing assistant (CNA) or medical assistant (MA) certification. General Responsibilities: Assists the District Nurse with the coordination of the individual healthcare needs of our students in compliance with the laws relating to student healthcare; to assess and refer both emergent and non-emergent cases for proper treatment as needed, and to work cooperatively with the District Nurse, physicians, parents/guardians, staff, administrators and students. Essential Functions: Under the direction of the District Nurse Administer first aid, medications and/or any specialized medical treatment to ill, medically fragile and/or injured students. Assesses and refers for appropriate treatment emergent and non-emergent cases regarding students' safety and other health issues including physical, sexual, and drug abuse in compliance with the law. Works cooperatively with physicians, professional agencies, parents, staff and students to provide the appropriate and needed treatment for students at school and conducting any home visits when necessary to provide this treatment. Coordinates and implements health-related programs including required screenings, immunizations, district athletic physicals, and other necessary programs. Maintains identified healthcare plans, medical emergency cards, immunization files, required screening information, allergy files and other healthcare related records as required. Makes sure information is entered into Skyward and filed in appropriate file(s). Properly completes and processes written reports pertaining to student incidents/accidents. Reports suspected child abuse cases in accordance with the policies of the district and the laws of Washington state. Maintains strict confidentiality of students records. Travels between school buildings within the District frequently. Other Functions: Perform related duties as assigned. Qualifications: A high school diploma or equivalent. Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Medical Assistant (MA) certification. Valid First Aid Card and CPR certification. Valid Washington State driver's license. Knowledge of and skills to operate required health screening equipment and other related equipment and techniques necessary for performing essential functions. Ability to respond quickly and effectively to medical emergencies. Demonstrated organizational skills and commitment to follow through on tasks without direct supervision. Effective oral and written communication skills. Criminal history fingerprint clearance through the Washington State Patrol and FBI at employee's expense. Ability and willingness to participate in related training programs and workshops. Ability and willingness to work flexible hours when necessary. Knowledge of the legal issues related to the healthcare of students. Awareness of personal care and/or health-related support. Preferred Qualifications: Recent successful experience in school setting Physical Demands: Employees may sit for extended periods of time; lift and carry up to 50 lbs. unassisted and over 50 lbs. with assistance; must speak clearly, hear normal voice conversation, maintain balance, walk, have rapid mental/muscular coordination, stand, have depth perception, stoop/bend, sit, crawl, kneel, squat, bend repeatedly, see small details, push, reach overhead, pull and use a computer and telephone. Work Environment: Work inside and outside, in direct contact with students, the public and other district staff; be exposed to air and blood-borne pathogens, and germs, bodily fluids, communicable diseases, and emergency situations; work without guidance from supervisor. Terms of Employment: This position is for the duration of a given school year approximately 184 days. Salary: $28.69-$32.13 FLSA: NON-EXEMPT Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with the classified collective bargaining agreement.
