We take the definition of team to the next level and operate on an equally split-tip pool for all partners.WHO YOU AREROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Restaurant Operations:

  • Lead restaurant operations while on shift
  • Maintain an organized and clean kitchen that meets or exceeds regulatory standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Work closely with the GM and kitchen team to ensure high-quality food and beverage programs - from prep to execution to the guest experience.
  • Contribute ideas and assist in recipe testing for menu updates, seasonal offerings, and promotions.
  • Oversee equipment care and maintenance such as training team in proper use, completing or scheduling repairs as needed.
  • Inventory management such as ordering based on restaurant needs and managing labour cost systems.
  • Ensure food quality to Virtuous Pie's standards in prep and line kitchens, while managing bill times in the line kitchen.
  • Prioritizing and completing food orders.
  • Assist in receiving and checking on food orders.
  • Establish and maintain positive and professional working relationships with vendors.
  • Supporting a fresh and local ingredient portfolio through sourcing products.Administrative Operations:
    • Assisting the GM to ensure all financial, personnel, and payroll-related administrative duties are completed accurately, on time, and following Virtuous Pie's policies and procedures.
    • Oversee a comprehensive health and safety plan and training programs.
    • Conduct weekly inventory counts and investigate variances to control food and other restaurant costs.
    • Track and enter invoices into the accounting system, ensuring all invoices are paid on time.
    • Assist in writing and complying with the annual restaurant budget.
    • Review the weekly and monthly finances, including profit and loss reports.Partner and Guest Experience:
      • Responsible for assisting the GM with HR processes.
      • Anticipating hiring needs, posting of jobs, interviewing candidates, and delivering job offers.
      • Conducting regular sit-downs and performance reviews with partners.
      • Managing and following up on disciplinary or performance issues with partners.
      • Terminating employees as required in compliance with employment laws.
      • Developing weekly schedules for the BOH to meet the needs of the restaurant that hit budgeting targets.
      • Review weekly clock-ins for partners to ensure accuracy.
      • Train BOH partners to maintain a strong work culture, brand identity while upholding the standards of the guest experience.
      • Establish and maintain positive, long-lasting, professional relationships with the team.REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
        • 1+ years experience as a cook or equal restaurant experience.
        • 1+ years experience as a leader in the restaurant industry.
        • Proven leadership paired with excellent kitchen skillset.
        • Ability to work in a fast-paced and inter-functional team environment.
        • High standard of professionalism and attention to detail.
        • Ability to coach others with honesty, professionalism while leading by example.
        • Previous experience in leading operations and related administrative works.
        • Knowledge and experience using plant-based ingredients.
        • Personal alignment with Virtuous Pie's vision, values, and team culture is considered an asset.
        • Experience and understanding of MS Office, Google software and POS systems.
        • Previous experience scheduling, managing inventory and working with payroll systems is advantageous.
