Description As a Decorator, you will enjoy exceptional earning potential with generous commissions. The successful Decorator is tech-savvy, on-trend with sales ability and a passion for design. If you have a flexible schedule, which includes weekends and some holidays and love working with people to make their visions come true, this is the position for you! JOB DESCRIPTION: Plan, assist with marketing, and conduct a minimum of two in-store design workshops, for customers, per month, per assigned store. Create training plans, produce materials and facilitate two Saturday morning Design Training classes per month for Store Associates. Stay well-informed of design trends within the home furnishing industry. Develop and utilize sales skills and principals including approach, rapport building, needs discovery, customized portfolio presentations, answering objections, closing, follow-up after sale service and continuing contact with all previous and potential customers. Educate sales staff on interior design and trend. Partner with District Manager and Corporate Marketing to maximize store promotions, marketing initiatives, and grassroots programs. Maintain strong knowledge of features and benefits of existing and new product line. Schedule professional home consultations to present customized room designs, including lighting, furniture, tables and accessory recommendations as well as the benefits of our professional installation service. Accurately complete order information, collect deposits and fees, keep orderly customer records, and research customer payments and deliveries. Team with Store Manager, District Manager and Associates to promote the In-Home Design program and drive overall store sales. Ensure that each Lamps Plus customer has an informative and positive experience by utilizing good customer service skills and knowledge of products. Make sound business decisions to deliver customer satisfaction and promote team environment. Maintain a positive working relationship with all store associates Adhere to general store operational procedures and guidelines. Show a sense of urgency, enthusiasm and excitement with the staff and customers. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Broad knowledge of interior design and effective sales techniques. Ability to sell ideas, products and services. Strong space planning skills. Ability to make In-Home Design calls to customers to provide complete design solutions. Demonstrate use of technology to drive your business. Social media and computer skills required. Willingness and ability to work holidays, evenings and weekends. Valid driver's license with a good driving record, current auto insurance, and ability to provide own transportation to and from customers' homes. BA Degree in Interior Design preferred. Excellent written capabilities. Outstanding ability to verbally present ideas to individuals.
