Job Description:

Job ResponsibilitiesProcess semi-monthly payroll accurately and timely in compliance will all state and federal wage and hour laws. This includes creating and distributing paychecks and direct deposits.Review and/or input all new hires, terminations, and all payroll and benefits related entries and updates.Resolve payroll discrepancies and answer payroll-related questions.Process wage garnishments and employment verifications timely.Complete all required responses to various state and federal agencies and third parties regarding child support orders, tax liens, and tax reports.Process monthly payroll related journal entries and prepare account reconciliations.Audit payroll registers and ensure taxable fringe benefits are accounted for including relocation, car allowance, etc.Set up new benefit deductions for employees in the appropriate pay period for future deductions & understand proper taxation of employer paid benefits.Reconcile and arrange payment for monthly billing statements for all benefit plans.Process W-2, W-3, Oregon WR, and other tax forms as needed.Track all measured employees per the Affordable Care Act guidelines and process annual APA reporting forms.Review Annual 5500 Filings.Process certified payroll reports.Assist with annual worker compensation, 401k plan and financial statement audits.Review, process and maintain monthly health insurance programs.Maintain knowledge of applicable state and federal wage and hour laws.Perform other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications IncludeStrong knowledge of payroll best practicesStrong knowledge of federal and state employment and benefits laws and regulationsExperienced with processing multi-state payrolls and reportingStrong computer skills including proficiency in Acrobat and the Microsoft Office suite of programs, including intermediate Excel skillsAccurate 10-key by touch and typing skillsStrong work ethic with a high degree of professionalismAbility to deal sensitively with confidential materialStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsOrganized multitasker with strong attention to detail and accuracyDemonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work under pressure to meet deadlines and remain professional, responsive, and cooperativeExcellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills, with ability to interact at all levels of the organizationAbility to work both independently and as part of a collaborative teamMember of the American Payroll AssociationAbility to pass criminal background and DMV checks.Education And ExperienceAssociates degree or equivalent in accounting, human resources, or applicable area preferredMinimum 2 years of progressive experience in payroll and benefits administration requiredAdditional training/experience in payroll, benefit administration, computers and general office procedures preferredA/E industry experience preferred; Deltek Vision experience desirableOregon, Washington & California payroll experience desirablePowered by JazzHR
