Responsibilities This position is responsible for the design, implementation, and support of the Avangrid Renewables Corporate Infrastructure and Associated Applications, with emphasis on current infrastructure around Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity. The successful candidate will possess a high-level of technical expertise in infrastructure architecture, maintenance, and overall systems integration. MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Scope of work - range of responsibilities): ---Create and support stable network and server environment.
---Work closely with the application support team to enable solid IT infrastructure. Perform, coordinate, and manage tasks to ensure business success of the application environment.
---Light DBA efforts for MySQL and MariaDB environments.
---Design, implement, and maintain solid information security, paying special attention to regulatory issues as regards NERC CIP.
---Create and perform best practices for server stability & patching, backups, test, development, and the like.
---Manage core vendor relationships.
---Work closely with both technical and non-technical staff to create a resilient and highly-available infrastructure for systems operations.
---Adhere to effective internal controls.
---Other duties, as assigned. Skills and Requirements ---Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
---Minimum 5 years Linux administration in an enterprise environment.
---Minimum 2 years AIX or equivalent UNIX experience.
---Minimum 2 years Ansible or equivalent configuration management software experience.
---Strong demonstrable understanding of information security practices.
---Solid OSI model comprehension.
---Minimum 5 years in a technical support role.
---Demonstrated history of exceptional customer service.
---Strong history of managing complex efforts with demanding customers.
---Scripting ability (shell, python, PERL, etc) Preferred Qualifications:
---Red Hat Enterprise Linux experience preferred
---ROCKS or OpenHPC cluster experience preferred
---Experience with or knowledge of Disaster Recovery philosophies and methodologies, including practical experience.
---Experience with or knowledge of Business Continuity philosophies and methodologies, including practical experience.
---VMWare ESX experience
---RHV experience preferred
Familiar with network concepts, tools, and troubleshooting #LI-MM1
