Position Summary The Division of Math, Aviation and Industrial Technology at the Portland Community College Rock Creek Campus is looking to fill a full-time faculty position in ThinkBIG / Electric Power Generation (EPG); to begin in the Summer 2021 Academic Term. Although EPG focused, you may be required to teachother courses within the ThinkBIG / Dealer Service Program.

The successful candidate will support and grow student interest and success in this vital technical field by providing high quality instruction and helping to develop innovative curriculum and programs. The Instructor will be required to travel in and out of state, as necessary, to complete required internship visits and to attend any assigned trainings/conferences. These qualifications, skills and abilities are critical for success in this position.

• Caterpillar specific experience as a technician or trainer
• Recent experience teaching in the Electric Power Generation (EPG) Industry
• Recent experience working in the Electric Power Generation (EPG) Industry on a technical level or as a technician
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Good communication skills both verbally and in writing
• Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team
• Willingness to complete Caterpillar specific certifications Minimum Qualifications To be considered, your application must demonstrate these minimum qualifications. (Experience is calculated based on the start and end dates you provide multiplied by the number of hours per week worked).
  • Five years recent diesel service experience ( Note: Recent experience teaching at the college level or industry trainer experience or a combination of full-time equivalent teaching at the college level and industry trainer experience may be substituted, year for year, for recent diesel service experience.)
  • Caterpillar Specific certification in all areas of instruction is required within the first year of hire for full time faculty. Preferred Qualifications Starting Salary Expectations Initial Salary Placement will be up to Step 3 ($61,137) based on related experience, per PCC's collective bargaining agreement. Higher placement may be considered based on qualifications, experience and internal equity. Position Grade Salary Range $57346 to $97136 Annual Salary FTE 1 PCC offers a comprehensive benefit package designed to provide employees and their families, including domestic partners, with access to a broad range of benefit options. Includes Health, Dental, and Vision options, Group Life, Long-term Disability, Long-term Care, and Auto and Home Insurance programs. PCC currently funds the Oregon Public Employees Retirement System (PERS/OPSRP) pension and contributes an additional 6% into the employee's Individual Account Program under PERS/OPSRP. A portion of the 6% will be diverted to The Employee Pension Stability Account as mandated by Senate Bill 1049. PCC offers a tax deferred annuity program and a deferred compensation program where employees may save additional pre-tax dollars for retirement. Additionally, PCC provides a tuition waiver for courses offered at PCC for yourself, domestic partner, and dependent children under 24 years of age; plus partial tuition reimbursement for yourself at other accredited institutions.-- * Please note:Temporary Full-Time Faculty are not eligible for Personal Leave Days, Life Insurance, Long-term Disability, or AD&D Insurance.
    • 1 day of sick leave for every 18 days worked (-10 per year)
    • 21 hours of additional personal leave per year
    • 4 paid holidays (which occur during the term you are teaching) Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Instructors shall have earned required academic credentials at a regionally accredited US institution or a foreign institution having the equivalent of regional accreditation.
      
      Instructors with credentials from other countries will have their transcripts evaluated by agencies that have good standing with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services to establish fulfillment of this standard.
