DescriptionJob ID: 48869Software Development Engineer The Software Development Engineer is part of a team of software engineers working to develop new software products, create application-based alterations, special products and unique solutions to meet the needs of internal customers. Projects can be small to large in scope and may be based with domestic or foreign suppliers. Included in software development will be project management including proposal generation, budget preparation or input, developing project timelines and managing projects as well as administering project phase-gate reviews. Support to internal teams and working with other engineering teams will involve 3rd party collaboration, in-house development, issue resolution and validation testing. All tasks will be done in accordance with our engineering department management tools, databases and quality driven processes.ResponsibilitiesWork as part of a dynamic software team to support multi-generation software product platforms to maintain relevant, compliant software products with all computing devices and operating systems.Develop new software products using modern development tools (.NET, C#, VB.NET, etc., Angular, Telerik, SQL Server, Web API, Azure cloud development, etc.)Manage software projects, including software specification, UI design, testing/approval.Troubleshoot existing software products to identify bugs as well as remedy.Work alongside Field Service to diagnose software installation and/or performance issues and maintain a solid record of any needs.Application testing; including basic validation and regression testing.Support software implementation, deployment and support activitiesAbility to solve problems independently and manage the workload of multiple projects and tasks.Cooperatively provides hands-on job function training to co-workers as needed.Must understand and comply with Safety, 5S, ISO, and other corporate programs, initiatives and procedures.Dependable and consistent attendance is critical for team performance and productivity.QualificationsBS Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.4+ of industry experience.Must be able to work with minimal supervision and possess strong team skills, including the ability to work effectively with internal and external groups as part of various initiatives.Full-stack software development using Microsoft technologies including Azure.Proven ability to work through software deployment, support and training.Strong hands-on aptitude to learn new products and technologies and clearly communicate with customers verbally and in writing.Experience in developing web and Windows applications using Microsoft .Net technologies.Experience WithObject Oriented Programming ConceptsMicrosoft .NET Framework and C#ASP.NET, HTML5 and MVCService Oriented Architecture, Web Services and WCFJavaScript, jQuerySQL Server database component development and managementFamiliarity WithAzure, Entity Framework, ADO.Net, LINQWPF or Winform developmentVB.NETSoftware architecture designApplication level programming interfacing with firmware/devicesSoftware project management experienceSoftware specification experienceUser Interface/User Experience design experienceSoftware validation and regression testingSoftware implementation / launch experienceAbout VanderHouwenVanderHouwen is an award-winning, Women-Owned, WBENC certified professional staffing firm.
