US Citizenship REQUIRED Position Overview:This full-time contract System Administrator position is located in the Business Systems Operations Server (JSOS) organization, within IT department. The Production Control System Administrator manages enterprise level production control services in a large production environment. This position works within an IT Automation group which is responsible for scheduling, designing, and operating production control jobs for the enterprise. The jobs are scheduled against a variety of systems including Windows, Linux, Solaris, Oracle, and SQL. This position is located at our client’s HQ in Portland, OR. SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: This position requires confidentiality, professionalism and requires passing a higher level background investigation, for which the selected candidate must qualify to hold or continue to hold the position. Position Responsibilities include to:Note: all official drafts, documents materials and recommendations, as listed below, must be reviewed, finalized and approved / accepted by appropriate manager and/or other federal personnel with the authority to do so.

  • Design, develop, and support UC4 production control jobs.
  • Diagnose and resolve problems remotely or locally, providing technical assistance for site-specific applications/scripts, software upgrades and ensuring automation functionality.
  • Troubleshoot failed batch processes in a server-client-database environment.
  • Perform basic server administrative tasks such as connectivity troubleshooting, navigation among files and permission/security tasks.
  • Verify that production scheduling system agents and systems are secure and functional.
  • Write or modify scripts to enable new processes and design.
    • Troubleshoot data transmission problems and issues. Position Requirements:Education/Experience:
      • Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a directly-related technical discipline is highly desirable.
      • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a directly-related technical discipline is preferred.
      • This is a Level 2 position: 5 - 9 years combination of education and/or work experience in Computer/Information Technology or a directly-related field is required. Each applicable college degree will count towards 2 years of experience.Note: Equivalent related degrees will only count once. 2 years of recent, relevant work experience is required in addition to any education credit.
      • Experience supporting on-call operations in a 24x7 environment is preferred.
      • Experience working in a large production environment is preferred.
      • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook); MS Office 2010 proficiency required. Technical Requirements:
        • Understand complex instructions and interpretation of scheduling alarms and exit status messages.
        • Object-oriented programming techniques and service-oriented architecture.
        • Experience with additional IT Automation tools such as Puppet or Chef. General Requirements:
          • Ability to work under pressure with shifting priorities and multiple simultaneous assignments. Must be able to efficiently prioritize work to meet critical deadlines while maintaining a professional demeanor, and assure strict attention to detail and accuracy.
          • Demonstrated ability to work independently and be self-motivated with minimal verbal or written instructions, and be able to apply time management skills.
          • Ability to analyze information and use logic to address work related issues and problems, with understanding of impact on current and future programs and processes.
          • Must have a high level of confidentiality and discretion regarding company proprietary information.
          • Carry out assigned tasks with a professional demeanor reflected in excellent written and oral communication skills, listening skills, patience, analytical reasoning and problem solving abilities with close attention to detail.
          • Meet timelines, milestones, deliverables and provide timely (weekly) status updates
          • Communicate technical information verbally and in writing to technical and non-technical users.
          • Provide a sustainable IT infrastructure by supplying cross training and functional documentation.
          • Understand and follow established processes and procedures including Change Management, Work Tracking and Time Management.
          • Ensure proper identification of self as a contract worker in all communications, correspondence, etc. Additional Requirements:
            • Must be able to pass a Personnel background check pursuant for Public Trust (SF-85P), for which the selected candidate must qualify to hold or continue to hold the position.
            • The selected candidate will be required to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) as a condition of the contract assignment.
            • This position may be eligible for situational offsite work, subject to the completion of an Offsite Work Memorandum of Understanding.
            • RSA token shall only be utilized when conducting work directly related to the API. Any other work is unauthorized. Contract worker is responsible for the safe-keeping of the issued RSA token at all times. If the RSA token is lost or compromised, immediately contact the COTR. All information associated with work performed offsite must be maintained in the network environment. No client information will be allowed to be transmitted, stored and created, etc., on the contract worker's personal devices. Contract personnel must follow all client and government-wide security, asset management, and cyber security policies and procedures.
            • Offsite work may only be performed within the client service area unless coordinated through the Labor Management Office (our client). Contract personnel must keep their employer informed of their work location at all times and must coordinate any changes with their employer and our client before the change occurs.
              • Approximately 5% travel is anticipated. Travel will primarily be for meetings and/or training attendance.
              • Valid Drivers License is required.
              • Up to 5% overtime is anticipated.
                • Will be expected to provide on-call and backup support for existing systems and functions.Location for on-call and backup support may be at client facilities or off-site.Required to carry a client supplied cell phone/pager and work non-core hours when requested.
                  • On-call duty rotation is once every three weeks lasting for 7 days.This schedule is subject to change.On-call duties include a requirement to be available 24/7 during an on-call rotation.Remote connectivity is a requirement.
                    • Upon selection to the assignment, the worker may be required to complete internal/external training to support assigned equipment, programs or software, software upgrades, or to learn new client technology. *Note: Attendance at all conferences, workshops, training, etc. must be pre-approved by our client. For any such events, requests will be reviewed on a case by case basis; approval is subject to the most current guidance provided by our client or DOE and is subject to change. Our client reserves the right to negotiate attendance on billable/non-billable hours and reimbursement of travel costs with the supplier. Reimbursable travel costs must adhere to the Federal Travel Regulations and be submitted via an expense sheet.
