Job Description:

As a Transportation Supervisor at Sysco, you will play a crucial role in orchestrating the delivery movements of food products, ensuring they are efficiently and safely transported to various establishments including restaurants, healthcare, and educational facilities, and hospitality businesses. Overseeing a team of drivers and logistics personnel, you will enhance our reputation through precise scheduling, optimal route planning, and excellent customer service, maintaining Sysco's status as a global leader in the food distribution industry. Manage daily transportation operations, including compliance with health and safety regulations. Develop efficient route plans that minimize costs and maximize delivery efficiency. Supervise, recruit, and train transportation staff, ensuring a high level of team performance and morale. Implement strategies to reduce operational costs and improve customer satisfaction. Ensure compliance with all transportation and safety laws. Closely monitor and report on transportation costs, delivery times, and staff performance. Communicate effectively with other departments within Sysco to ensure coordination and efficiency. Handle emergencies or interruptions to logistics, devising contingency plans as needed. Strong leadership and decision-making skills Excellent organizational and time management skills Proficiency in transportation management systems Strong understanding of compliance regulations related to transportation Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels Skilled in problem-solving and critical thinking Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Certified in Transportation and Logistics (CTL) preferable Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or equivalent, if required
