Job Description:
At US Foods, a leader in the foodservice distribution industry,
we are seeking an experienced Sr. Transportation Manager to oversee
and enhance our transportation operations. This pivotal role
involves managing transportation activities across multiple
locations to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of our
extensive product range. The successful candidate will lead
initiatives to improve transportation strategies, optimize fleet
operations, and ensure compliance with safety regulations, thereby
contributing to our mission of supporting the success of
approximately 300,000 restaurants and foodservice operators
nationwide. Develop and implement strategic transportation plans to
maximize efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Oversee the management
of the transportation fleet, including maintenance and compliance
with all federal and state regulations. Collaborate with warehouse
and logistics staff to integrate transportation with other
logistical functions. Monitor key performance indicators, including
delivery times, transportation costs, and driver performance, to
improve productivity. Negotiate contracts with transportation
providers and maintain beneficial relationships. Implement
sustainability and safety initiatives in all transportation
protocols. Lead, mentor, and develop the transportation team to
achieve business and operational goals. Strong leadership and team
management skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving
abilities. Proven ability to negotiate and manage contracts.
In-depth knowledge of transportation and fleet management software.
Understanding of compliance and safety regulations within the
logistics and transportation sector. Medical Insurance Dental
Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Certified in
Transportation and Logistics (CTL) APICS Certified Supply Chain
Professional (CSCP) is preferred.
