Parks this February for some winter fruit tree pruning workshops
and work parties in Curtin Springs Community Orchard! Each event
will consist of a run-down on winter fruit tree pruning: how to
make the best cuts to maximize overall tree health, improve fruit
production, and minimize disease, followed by a couple hours of
putting these skills to work restoring the 30 year old orchard with
several different fruit tree varieties. All events are family
friendly and free of charge to attend, though donations are gladly
accepted. Tools, training, and gloves provided. Please RSVP through
Eventbrite if you plan on attending so we know how many tools to
provide WHAT TO BRING: -Your own pruning tools and/or gloves, if
you have some you prefer -Dress for work/weather -Water bottle
-Volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by an adult, or provide
signed youth waivers for Clark County and Urban Abundance (sign at
event or request PDF by emailing lynsey@slowfoodswwa.com) -Use a
restroom beforehand! No restroom on site.
