Mid/Senior Level Water Resources Scientist

Tetra Tech seeks a self-motivated professional with a desire to grow and develop their role to improve our capacity to serve clients and the natural world. This experienced environmental scientist would help to coordinate a small team of biologists, environmental scientists, and engineers to design and execute biological studies, environmental assessments, habitat restoration projects, permitting projects, and other environmental investigations. Creative and organized problem solvers interested in bringing innovative technology to the forefront of environmental consulting are encouraged to apply.
Candidates should have broad interests and background to support tasks related to:

• NEPA/SEPA analyses;
• Stream and river restoration;
• Fisheries studies and fish monitoring;
• ESA compliance analysis and Biological Assessment preparation;
• Preparation and development of environmental permits, including CWA Sections 404/401;
• GIS mapping and data analysis; and
• Assisting in business development for biological/environmental work.
  REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • BS in Biology/Geography/Environmental Sciences/Water Resources Sciences and at least 12-15 years of professional experience, or MS in Biology/Geography/Environmental Sciences/Water Resources Sciences and at least 10 years of professional experience in environmental science and project management including conducting environmental surveys, biological monitoring and reporting, water quality studies, wetland delineation and mitigation, environmental restoration, and local, state, and federal permitting.
  • Broad understanding of environmental resources analysis and documentation, including biological resources, water resources, cultural resources, hazardous materials, and other common environmental resources topics;
  • Experience with local and state agencies in Oregon and Washington;
  • Experience in business development, including client development, leads tracking, proposal and budget development, interviews, and presentations;
  • Experience reviewing and editing reports, figures, and proposals;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Experience preparing reports, including NEPA, SEPA, and ESA documentation;
  • Experience with GIS and Excel; and
  • Valid driver's license
