Since 1975, our organization has helped over 60,000 individuals receive sight-restoring transplants.Please visit www.visiongift.org for more information on our organization.LVG has an opening for a challenging and rewarding full-time Night Shift Donation Specialist II position in our Portland location. In addition to performing the duties of a Donation Specialist. A Donation Specialist II monitors the daily workflow of the department, assigns, re-distributes and serves as shift lead for fellow Donation Specialists.A Donation Specialist II must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and be mission driven. Ruling donors in is our upmost priority, and a Donation Specialist II is required to do their due diligence in prioritizing donation potential for LVG and its partners.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / ASSIGNED RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:Perform the essential functions of a Donation Specialist and in addition:Support management during the training of new employees. This may include participation in mock calls and mock referrals and 1:1 shadowing.Model professionalism for the department by displaying professional demeanor and positive interactions with others, especially when under stress.Demonstrate team-based attitude to calmly address and resolve concerns or conflict.Communicate in Criteria and Needs channel when there is a workflow disruption, that is resulting in a delay of working up non-transplant cases for Research.In charge of daily case evaluations.Constant review of cases on the dashboard. To ensure all potential donor cases are up to date and there is no oversight on cases.Adhere to Critical Staffing Guidelines, when needed.Prioritize and distribute referrals evenly. Maintaining even distribution of workflow, including the cases assigned to yourself.Review Pre-shift bulletin daily, and ensure your teammates are up to date with any department changes.Stay up to date on call case notes and progression of cases. Ensure that each case has been attended to every few hours unless there is a documented reason to do otherwise.Attend to department voicemails and ensure they are followed up on.Attend to ME emails and other emails received in the shared Fax folder.Ensure staff are consistent with taking their required breaks and lunches. Communicate with DRL Leadership when teammates need to leave their shift or need other accommodations.Be prepared for shift change report. Communicating with shift change Donation Specialist II on any cases that require immediate attention or further follow up.In charge of assigning cases to Donation Specialists as soon as possible when shift change starts.Be comfortable delegating tasks and communicating with Referral Specialists and Donation Specialists when cases need to be followed up on.Perform recording reviews for all shared cases and ensuring cases are signed off and pushed to our partners before removing from the dashboard.Be available and prepared for DRL leadership to request misc. tasks.Accommodate department requests including DRAI clarification for Eligibility and other requests that ensure charts are getting cleared by our medical directors..

Requirements:
A successful candidate will have: One year experience as a Donation Specialist, or comparable eye or tissue banking experience.Experience with or knowledge of medical terminology.Knowledge of AATB, UAGA, FDA and EBAA donor screening criteria.Demonstrated knowledge of department workflow, procedures, and best practices.Knowledge of HIPAA and Lions VisionGift privacy guidelines.Strong communication and critical thinking skills.Strong verbal, written, and telephonic communications skills.Ability to lead in a fast-paced environment.Ability to maintain a positive attitude with teammates.Cognitive Aptitude: --- Accurately enter data into computer --- Excellent problem-solving skills--- Adaptability to frequent changes in priorities, fast pace of work--- Attention to detail is critical to process information effectively and accurately from multiple sources.Work Environment and Physical Demands:--- Ability to read/visually comprehend reports, computer screens, etc.--- Perform tasks requiring manual dexterity such as processing paperwork, filing, stapling, sorting, typing/using computer mouse, etc.--- Sit or remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time.--- Subject matter is sensitive and requires discretion.In addition to the hourly wage, Lions VisionGift offers a generous benefit package including, but not limited to:--- Shift differentials for nights & weekends;--- Medical, dental, and vision employee premiums paid in full;--- Employer-funded HRA;--- $20,000 employer-paid life insurance policy;--- Employer-paid short-term disability;--- Voluntary benefits;--- And more!COVID-19: We require all employees be vaccinated or have a medical or religious exemption that prohibits vaccination.
