Job Description:
SUMMARY:Ensures customers receive the best service possible
through effective communication during generation of tenders, and
order management. Coordination of involved departments to deliver
quality products in compliance with customer specifications, and
department / company policies and procedures. Assures all tenders
and orders are processed in accordance with the financial
objectives set by the department manager. Accomplishes department
and organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new
and different requests, acting as inside sales by exploring
opportunities for new business. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: % OF TIME
Tendering / Inside Sales Create tender based on customer inquiry
(request for quote). Use pricing tools and historic information to
generate tenders in the ERP System. Ensure tender meets customer's
requirements and financial guidelines set by department manager.
Verify Country of Installation is free of Trade
Restricts/Government Sanctions prior to quote/order process. Tender
should be provided in accordance to department tender cycle time
requirements. Manage successful completion of each assigned parts
order from receipt of customer inquiry, to receipt of payment, in
full, from the customer. 35Follow up on all open tenders until
closure (i.e.; won, or lost with reason for loss). Authorized to
adjust recommended sales price / final margin within the rules of
the department policy as required to win business. Use past
collected tender data to drive follow-up time by tender value, or
as directed by department manager. 15Use techniques to induce the
customer to purchase additional quantities, upgrades, or other
add-ons in an attempt to book a more profitable order. Develop
customer relationships to understand their buying patterns,
authorization limits, response times, and areas Sulzer can improve
upon. 10Manage opportunity in the CRM and ensure Agents/Sulzer
Offices are updated with the activity in their territories. 10
Order Processing Process and manage parts orders through to
completion and ensures changes to order are conveyed to appropriate
departments. 15Act as customer liaison for all activities. Ensure
expeditious communication with customer on order changes, status
updates and problems. 10Work with accounting to determine payment
method for new customers and ensure customer payment process is
acceptable to Sulzer accounting practices 5 SECONDARY
RESPONSIBILITIES: Keep department manager apprised of future
bookings and open quote status.Coordinate customer visits for
inspection, witness tests, plant tours, etc.Advise management of
order status, changes, clarifications, and approvals.Actively
involved with standardization and continuous improvement
processesMaintain quote and order files.Supports, cooperates with,
and participates in company-wide LEAN and QESH Management System
which includes following all safety, health and environmental
policies and procedures. Supports and cooperates in company-wide
Quality Management effort.Adheres to company and department
policies, procedures, and standardsPerforms other duties as
assigned. 100% SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:None
QUALIFICATIONS:Associates degree or approved combination of
experience and education.Minimum of three years' experience in
closely related position, preferably in a manufacturing
environment.Knowledge of pump manufacturing. Experience with
engineered products and quality principles. Proficient knowledge of
Nuclear, Commercial, or Export markets. Excellent organizational,
communication, and interpersonal skills. Be able to work with
internal and external customers under demanding conditions.
Demonstrated computer proficiency with knowledge of Microsoft
Windows, Excel, Word and all aspects of SAP strongly preferred.The
ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, sectional
drawings, engineered bill of materials. Ability to read and
understand customer specific requirements on inquiries and purchase
orders.Knowledge of ISO 9001 preferred.Tendering Specialist is
expected to exercise judgement, diplomacy and tact in all
interactions. Standards of customer service are essential.Strong
