A value added reseller is seeking a Permanent Remote Sr. Palo Alto Security Engineer to join their Enterprise Networking team! The Sr. Security Engineer will be responsible for interpreting and implementing customer change requests on managed security device platforms, primarily firewalls and IDS/IDP devices. They will troubleshoot problems including: security-related issues (firewalls, IPS, understanding of common protocols in security like DNS, SSL, TLS), routing and switching, protocol problems, WAN/LAN failures, and performance issues across network infrastructure with multiple security zones. This individual will maintain and administer perimeter security systems such as firewalls and intrusion detection systems. Working with clients, they will implement vendor firewalls like Cisco ASA firewalls including 2100 and 4100s. Common routing protocols used in this role are BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP. Common switches used in this role are Cisco 6500, 4500, 3750, 3560 and 3550. The Sr. Security Engineer will need experience working directly with stakeholders as this role will include recommending near- and long-term network capacity needs to clients!
Desired Skills and Experience 5+ years of experience with the following Cisco firewall platforms or technologies: Cisco ASA/FirePower, CheckPoint, SonicWall, IP Filter or iptables* Heavy experience with Palo Alto firewalls* 3+ years hands on experience migrating security appliance within the customer* Experience working in external customer facing environment for support* Ability to use and learn new complex systems, technologies, and applications* Ability to adapt to change quickly and multi-task
